You were well in the zone before that. Gutting. Glad you didn't get hit by the Aprilia!

Bike can get fixed easier than you. Glad you are ok. There was a link the other day to an American site with full sets of fairings for about £750 shipped

I have sent the video to NASA; they have returned it saying you panic brake'd & lost the front big time I'm afraid. Dont worry pal; there is no shame in admitting you were out of your depth on such as fast (black) bike on such a nasty track.

    ;)

Loving the sarcasm!! :D but the thing is I actually do work at the BBC and have done for over 10yrs and as soon as the editing guys heard about my crash they were all over the video. The front end didn't wash out at all and you can clearly see in slow mo that my forks were not loaded as to be honest I can't brake, blip throttle and change gear at the same time, I'm just not that good yet!

So are we saying that if you give the bike loads of throttle when already high up the revs and then dump the clutch from 2nd into 1st that is not going to lock the rear wheel or create a wheel spin at rear?? I was given this explanation by seasoned racers as I didn't know what happened. I just know I was in traffic not at full pace doing nothing I hadn't done every other lap except that this time I went for 1st unintentionally.

I suppose there always will be haters.... ;)

Well, I have highsided a few times & it always comes with a sudden rise in revs as the rear breaks free; a very similar sound to that in your film. I would have hoped that the slipper could save that situation; especially as you blipped to match wheel speed with engine speed. Maybe we dont have a "proper" ramp type slipper?

I will get NASA to hack into the BBC net to double check.

    :)

You high side or low side in corners not on straights as I almost did when throttling out hard too early in the morning sessions

Here's my ID to make it easier to get in ;)

Definitely not the easiest moment to share but if there's something to learn from this then you gotta take the rough with the smooth.

Parts alone are 1.5k ignoring replacing the 700quid tank cover (??) which is just scratched. So I guess it could have been worse....

My mate put up a video comparison of his inters group lap against mine although he is a fast group rider. He is in front of his footage being followed so he is the black leathers white boots zx6r 636 with PCV and remap. He said he starts video as we both cross line and we both have some traffic

At least it didn't flip & collect the other rider, I bet he shat himself. Bit of a pain weaving thru that lot, did they stray on the track on the way home from the pub?
Good pics, what camera do you have?

Gutted for you mate, did my first trackday at snetterton awesome track, as said was looking good up to that point. Would definitely invest in some track fairing and engine casing protection I've got gb motion mine, that's how I started off year later and a few ££'s it's a full on track bike :D

Was going to ask as well I'm guessing you got lap times from the video? Had no way of telling mine at the time and still don't want to sort that, maybe I'll have to invest in a HM dash...I'll add it to the already mahoosive list!

Thanks dude! Do you have a road bike too or just save it for the track days?

I can't not have both for those sunny days when I can occasionally commute to work and not care about any traffic

I wish mate! No me and the mrs both like our cars so can't stretch to a road bike as well. Initially it was going to be a bit of a hybrid, kept the brake light indicators, mirrors but did away with the headlights but I thought about how I liked to ride and it wasn't sticking to much of the road traffic act so I thought feck it and converted it some more. Miss not being able to jump on it sometimes but none of the mates have bikes and it was before I joined the forum so for me safest and most enjoyable was track it.
