I think Silkolene is untouchable! I don't rate Castrol at all! I got my bike with Silkolene in it and changed it for Castrol never again my gear change suffered and she felt more vibey! Silkolene isn't cheap I've just put Pro 4 10w30 Energy in her :) I managed to get 4ltrs for £48 from my local bike shop but for some reason Opie oils say they have it reduced from £68 to £53 plus delivery! Yeah right!!... Anyhoo Silkolene is low drag means better performance all round power and fuel! I guess you get what you pay for! I've ended up using it in all my bikes and you notice the difference! I have use Putolene previously as well again not much cop! But I can't recommend Silkolene highly enough but you've probably guest the by now :D

Anyone else noticed Halfords have upped the price of the castrol? Does it still cost the same with a trade card?

Obviously I missed all the bargains due to lack of funds.
but I thought i was being well prepared for the bank holiday (home service time)
    by buying this Castrol Power 1 10W40 Oil 4L & K&N Filter For Honda 2011 CBR1000RR Fireblade | eBay

any of you notice the problem? Because I didn't!
the picture shows the 'Racing' Oil, but little description at the bottom doesn't.
so surprise surprise the non racing 10w40 turns up, semi synthetic i believe. where as you guys and honda say use the Full synthetic stuff
Im going to ring them today, but do you guys reckon it will be alright to use if I cant get it exchanged for the weekend.

    Thanks

Just a word to the wise. I bought 4lt Castrol Power 1 Racing fully synth 10/30 for £34.93 yesterday for my 03 954. The guy in dealer (Hunts Stockport) said if Honda could take all our user manuals and Haynes back they would as this is all they recommend for all the blades now.

Plus they were doing a price match between fully and semi. Perhaps still not the best price compared to what's online but at least dealing with a trusted co face to face you know what you're getting with a little expert advice thrown in. Even threw in an oil filter removal tool with the filter, I'm happy

just an update, The guy on the phone was very polite and understanding.
apologised profusely and explained that they were waiting for their delivery of power 1 RACING, so offered me a full refund including the cost to send it back.
    and to top it off
told me to keep the K&N filter as a good will gesture!! I was gobsmacked.
nice to get service for a change, and will deal with them again because of it.

Assuming you're in the UK, the full refund including return postage is mandated by the distance selling laws...
