Have been going on a memorial rideout late April for a number of years - COlin kindly moved the forum trip to mid May to avoid it. Here are a few snaps - due to ferry issues getting to Skye the route on Saturday was longer than planned - weather getting up was terrible as the pics will show! Assembled at Hawes and Blade is gleaming A nice welcome - in the rain / hail Minging roads, mud , sleet, snow but then sunshine at hotel Made my way to South Queensferry - missed the most popular spot for photos I think as went in the wrong way - should have taken first turn off ring road but wanted to try route I'd seen on map past petrol stations The camera panorama went a bit wrong on Forth Road bridge but its still a good shot
Spotted a couple of Blades at the Green Welly Eileen Donan Castle Blade (and some evil Panzers) on the Ferry to Malaig Harry Potter viaduct Glenfinnan Jackobite monument Glencoe Ski Centre - great place to stop for a brew / decent bite to eat - I would say def. better than the Green Welly It was snowing at this point Westmorland Services on way back from work Monday afternoon One mega filthy blade -
Nice work in that weather Al. Looks like it was a wild (weather) 1. Looks a lot better next week though
What is this snow foam your speak of and where do I get it from - it needs a full on wheels off muck off attack this weekend.
Google / youtube it. The post I want you to see on the S1000RR forum is only open to registered members and it is a fucking awful forum so wouldn't want to subject a fragile soul like you to it. A bloke on the S1R forum snow foams his bike and it comes up a treat. He snow foams, leaves for 10 mins, rinses it off and then uses an airline to dry. He calls it contact-less cleaning and it is very effective. Have you got a Karcher? If so, about £10-15 for 5 litres of foam and about £45 for the Karcher attachment. Make sure you order a PH neutral foam.
This is the sorta thing MOz is on about, sorry not many bikes on YouTube getting foamed mostly cars. Jay's Sweetie Gixxer gets the Snow Foam Wash - YouTube I tried to embed the video but limited capability via ipad I'm afraid. The snow foamer is known as a pre wash, basically you spray soap/car wash through a lance that mixes air to the water making lots of soapy bubbles that's sprayed onto bike/car and left for 5-10 mins to work into the dirt, the bike is then rinsed down removing the worst of the muck along with it! Then continue with ur normal wash routine to get the bike really clean. If the bike is polished/waxed regularly you will find the majority of the much is removed in pre wash due to the muck not being able to stick to the wax! I use this prewash technique all year round but it's specially handy in the winter when u just want to get the worst off the car as first 100 yards cars as bad as ever again (bike locked away under blankets in winter).
