with more threads popping up on bike cleaning I thought I would take my camera with me as I cleaned my bike to show what way I do it
Not very at the moment, and will only get worse when I head to the Green Welly tonight (weather permitting).
See I am the same, takes me ages to do it but When I do im saying to myself after that its not That big of a job.but the wax, muc-off and the Leather chamois make it so much easier and I Know it's done right when dealers have commented About how clean I keep my bikes. Okay I do have metal polish days and that takes ages.
Damn, you got your Blade hanging on a wall or something. Mine gets dirty when the dog looks at it! That is pass clean, it's sterile!
It didn't start that way, I got carried away. I do like to clean AND ride though, rather than just clean.
How on earth did you go from this picture to the picture you posted earlier? Strikes me it would take a team of highly trained cleaning gnomes to achieve a result like that. I certainly would never have the patience!!
the question is what lube did you use?, that chain is immaculate. Also what did you use to clean it? Mucho respect though, regardless of what cleaners you use that takes some serious elbow grease!
I used to be obsessive, particularly when I had nice concours cars. It was mainly paraffin / white spirit, with huge quantities of kitchen roll and a toothbrush, plus time. The lube I used to apply was PJ1 blue label, it was completely clear real stick stuff. Nowhere seems to stock it anymore though :-(
Apparently the best post-stag do hangover cure is to clean a motorcycle in south London. Just saying, Phantom, you know...
Mine in minging after Scotland - next Friday it goes on tour - I'm half tempted just to leave it as it is but know i'll end up giving it a quick sploosh over the weekend to at least make the wheels look white rather than black.
Good vid bud, I enjoy cleaning my cars and bikes but enjoy riding more. So never spend too much time. more than some but if it's nice outside I want to get out and play
