So after working all weekend it was my turn to go out to play..... 1st stop RAF Scampton no Red Arrows to be seen Then off to see some disused WW2 Bomber bases...... RAF Dunholme Then RAF Faldingworth where the poled served but was unable to access the memorial. Quick scoot over to RAF Wickenby Blast over to RAF Ludford Magna near Willingham woods then RAF Binbrook Down to RAF East Kirkby where I was hoping to catch Just Jane taxiing on there open day but was running a little late so missed it COCK! Next on the list RAF Coningsby where there were quite a few planespotters waiting for the return of the memorial flight and various Spitfires. Time then for RAF Woodhall not much to see here and finally the visitor centre at RAF Metheringham All in all a top day and still missed quite a few bases....some are literally 2 miles from each other can only guess what it must have been like at the height of the bomber campaign
