Glad you had a good time mate.... You not miss riding the bike though?? That's why I've always opted for touring v Tt week... Also, how come you missed the senior? Work out cheaper etc??
Will be taking the wife next year, and can't wait. Enjoyed being there this year, but by the end was desperate to get home. So next year will be even better, and booking a home stay or B&B as she doesn't do camping. Will still be on the bikes though.

Nope too many pricks on the roads (honestly you will see the worst riding ever when you are over there, it's no wonder so many visitors stack it!!) to make it pleasurable riding the course during TT period, when I take the blade over we generally do a couple of laps early mornings then it stays parked-up while we enjoy the atmosphere and relax... I was over there a few weeks back in the S4 for the Manx Classic sprint...much better then while the roads were quiet....I enjoy driving aswell. I usually miss the senior, works out better coming home Weds night and follow the last day's racing online....that way you don't get the squeeze of the post TT weekend crossing!
Just back from a week over there, top weather, did over 1300 miles. Some good mountain runs although it was frequently shut. Fireblades everywhere! Ratser, were you on Peel Campsite? - saw a few Blades on there. Cheers, Ian.
Completely agree with this. Makes you wonder how some people have passed their bike test. I went round the course with some friends and one female friend had a German touching her right foot on the left hander just before the varander (sorry not sure how to spell it and can't be bothered googling it). Personally I won't go during race week because I can't ride my bike or get to see much because its so packed everywhere. I go practice week and also go to the Manx which is great because sometimes you have the whole mountain course to yourself, you won't get that at the TT.
I went over 29th till the 3rd. 2nd time I've been , was there in 2011 and was much busier this time. As said before mountain closed a lot, I went up 3 maybe 4 times only to get to Ramsey and find it closed. I managed 3 good clear runs which were brilliant but yes a load of bams you see on the way up. My mate on an 08 blade had a guy in front of him on a GSXR went straight on. Bike and rider somersaulted through the air he stopped and rider was alive but bike wrecked. He said the guy missed the corner completely and right through a wall. It's a great buzz being there and you meet some really nice and friendly people. I met Pitty on the road at a junction just at Douglas, never met him before but he had made me a t-shirt a while back. The Pitty stitched on his leathers was a give away as was his email address decals. Top place and would advise anybody who's never been to go but book quick.
Yes, was a great site actually. Great location, and the staff were very good too. Could have organised the tent layouts a wee bit better as it was like walking through abandoned cars at times. And the bike park area is not quite big enough, but other than that. Despite the entrance to it being off Glencrutchery Road, there is a wee access road where you can grass track along to the police station when the roads are closed. They don't take next years bookings until August in case you were looking to book for next year.
There was some sockets available at the club house, if you were up early enough. Other than that I had a Twin USB port under my seat, and also used the socket at the old folks home at Governors Dip, hiding it behind a crate. Was a bit of a nightmare though, especially as me and the wife were texting so much as well. One lap charged my phone under my seat though, which was pretty good going.
You should have asked them if Jamie could explain once again just how much grip you can get on Shell Grip And if they can maybe have some different corners each race for her heir super slo mo camera work. Found Plater and Parish a bit annoying after a good while. It was obvious that commentary was added to the highlights rather than recorded during the races too. But at least they cover the event I suppose.
