Not Honda based, but just bought myself a track toy to save my Blade from me being overly zealous on track. It's an already setup 2002 Triumph TT (the model prior to the 675 Daytona i believe) with spare wets just in case. All being well i will be picking this up on thursday and can set to with stripping it for checking over before booking me some track time. Of course i blame the forum for this
Looks good Gary, come and give it a blast on the 31st at Oulton. Ha, you'll think your back on the Scotland tour in inters.
Cover blown HaHa, well spotted Lambeth. Not sure if everyone's played coy? But I'll admit your certainly the 1st to mention it.
I can't tell as I use Tapatalk, but maybe i should watch my language from now on Does anyone know a company/website that can do a HPi check with just the VIN number as there's no V5. On another note, he's delivering it in his van for £50, result! Trailer hire would have cost me £30 + fuel.
Nice. It's the predessesor to the Daytona 600/650 but uses the same frame etc… The Daytona and TT handle superbly…you're going to love it on track.
That's good to know. I've read that Triumph spent a bit of money on brakes, suspension and engine management, but it can be a little cramped for tall riders, but may be able to get rearsets to sort that. Do you reckon i'll be able to get the Daytona fairing in track form to fit ok? Might be a worthy upgrade when i drop it.
Hmm...don't know about that.. try Tank Slap - Motorcycle Forum theres a lot of triumph Daytona and ex TT owners on there
Well she's tucked up at home in the garage now. Not a bad example considering it looks like it's spend some time as a track bike. I sopped off at Newark services lest night and took a few pics (se below). Also test rode it before loading onto the trailer, rides ok, but definitely needs a steering damper. Currently wearing wets, but got Pirelli Dragons on dry wheels wich I'll be fitting asap and also came with a spare loose set of Michelin Power One's Shame they're 180's Almost a blank canvas to work on too. Gonna remove the yellow belly, any ides on scheme?
Just refitted the fairing after moving the wiring loom & rectifier inside the frame to protect them and adjusting a few bits on the bike, plus fitting the dry tyres, checking brakes etc. Still got a few more bits on order, but here's it's slightly updated look so far.
Tell me more Would need a lift for the bike though. (edit: Just checked the date and see that i cant make that day ) Cheers James Nothing major in the works, ordered tank grips, steering damper and got some Michelin Power One's to go on. Jason uses those so must be good. No trackdays yet, i dont have a trailer
Yes Simon. Got a single one that breaks down to save garage space. I've got a busy week around that date unfortunately, not forgetting that I'm driving the trailer up to Scotland to collect the bike that went down on the Scotland trip earlier this year and a work jaunt down in Berkshire. On the plus side, just picked the track bike up from the MOT garage and it passed with just an advisory on having a bent handle bar and not having any lights. That's just increased it's value What's happening this weekend? Got a day pass from home and Sunday weather looks good and there's a dealer event in Leeds.
