Whatever you do, dont buy cheap chinese stuff, if your going to do it do it properly.

Could i maybe suggest for those serious on doing a few track days, instead of spending 400 quid plus on fairings and another 400 quid on wets on wheels etc, buy yourself a cheap trackbike, trust me its far cheaper an option than slinging your 10k shiny new sportsbike down the road.

And 1k gets you some cracking kit nowadays, classic steelie 600 with all the kit or an early r6.....

I think you comments are correct...a friend of mine had a nice Ducati 848 had some track fairings on it as well .......did not help him out much when he bent the front forks with a dent in chassis plus other dents here and there bike is now a pile of s****

Heard and read mixed reviews on the Chinese fairing. The paint and lacquer is good for the price. But the fit is generally a bitch and no ideal.

I decided to by Armour Bodies fairing from Canada (not heard of in the UK, it's on par with Sharkskinz). It's got good reviews over there and in the USA. It's fiberglass with kevlar mounting points and it fitted very well. It cost more and I had to have it painted, about twice that of the Chinese stuff.

But is strong and in the event I crash, it will easy repair. As the Chinese stuff will explode and shatter.

As they say, buy cheap, buy twice.

Heard these are good in the UK:

2008 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade Bodywork Kit - ANR Performance UK

    Pro Fibre UK

cheers guys, keep the suggestions coming please. Craig I would love a track bike but with the blade and kit car I have no room and the wife would not be best happy with me buying more toys. costs enough at the moment to keep my toys. and with a family i can't push my luck too much

As rich suggests, easily the most popular and best UK supplier is ANR Products in Lincolnshire, as used by HM Plant, Tyco Honda etc etc.

@ Dan Moore, i see your point, but please dont take this the wrong way, unless your a trackday regular and at the top end of inters (at a bare minimum, most days you would need to be mid pack in fast group) you really wont be any faster on the Blade than the steelie 600.......hell even i get passed by the odd pre injection bod around cadwell and im doing mid 40's!

I agree with what your saying mate but Being faster on the blade is not the point for me anyway , I want to learn the characteristics of my current bike that i ride most days . I dont want to be getting used to riding the blade fast then jumping on something different

My Experiance with trackday/race fairings (and I've had a few) is avoid the real cheap ebay bargains and expect to pay around £350 mark for a full set.
The cheaper sets tend to crack and are a bitch to fit.

I've always steered clear of fancy pre painted jobbies and always just had my fairings painted in a single colour and then added a sticker kit and I'm more than happy with the results.

As far as people trying to put you off running your road bike at the track, pay no attention to them. Statistically you are far more likely to have a spill out on the road when "Mrs sorry I didn't see you" pulls out on you than on the track.

Quick question folks sorry to revive an old thread but thought it would be easier to ask in here I am after a set of track fairings for my 09 blade just wondering how do I fit the tail unit? I can see 4 holes in the top of it where the seat foam goes but how do I actually attach it to my bike? Forgive the stupid question but I can see mounting holes on the nose, bellypan etc just wanted to know about the tail? Anybody done a how to on fitting the track fairings to an 08 onwards blade?
