Hope so buddy just seeing how the finances play out. I'm just getting the seat cowl and spare tank cover from here and then need a dyno tune and potentially braided lines and brembo master cylinder. Might skip the holiday to do the course and some more track days
Done the 600's (twice) and Blade (4 times) ... mainly at Silverstone except the most recent one at Dongington in June - epic track compared to S'stone !! As has already been said - instructors are first class (especially Nigel and Alan ) and Ron is always around for a natter ... but watch out for when he gets on track, he's still v v quick Riding the Blade at the Haslam school was the trigger for me to buy one - except mine doesnt have the speedo taped over Enjoy !
I overheard a couple of lads at Oakdene say that they were going flat out on the blades really pushing on when Ron came past them both 2 up and took off. They were simply gob-smacked.At the end of the session they told him he past them 2up, his words to them was trust your tyres more boys! Legend I call it.
Did it in May on the 600's and worth every penny! If I had the money I'd do the blades tomorrow. Enjoy matey!
How much does the course cost? (I know that I've been messing about with this course Martin, but I really do want to do it.) Now I know when the course is I know that I'm in the country - the only issues now are 1) funds (after a holiday) and 2) if I can get time off work It'd be great to get on track and meet you guys.
It's all on their website mate. It's £289 for the premier course on the 600rr. You have to do this first, then can go onto the Elite course on the blades within two years of completing the Premier course. Elite costs £399 but worth every penny. 4 x 20min sessions, come in and go out as and when you please, 1-1 tuition, telemetry aswell and debriefs between sessions looking at your telemetry and riding style.
I really should have checked the webs site; I was being lazy. At £289 I'll really have to be a good boy whilst we are away to be able to afford it. I'll see how devoid of funds the account is when I get home. Too many things to buy and not enough cold hard cash - isn't it always the way. I've had the bike almost a year now and still haven't put a tail tidy on her (not to mention a new exhaust, new rear sets, new tyres (not really needed but want to change the BT015's) etc etc). The shame!!!!
these dropped through the door this morning! Martin I am not sure how the times are setup but i think they are signin in every hour from 8:35am. that was our original signing on time.
Cheers mate, will see if I can get in on the same session then I will try not too slow you all down too much
From what I have read we just need to watch out for a two up blade flyin past everyone at jaw droppin speeds! Really looking forward to it now that the booklets are here with all the forms n stuff makin it more real rather than the usual email conformations you get now!
Look forward to the report on this as I'm keen to do this at some point. To much work commitments at the moment though but I will get round to it eventually !
