was watching a show on the other night and one bit they were interviewing wayne and talking about all he had achieved since his accident. doesnt feel that long ago but a few weeks is the 20th anniversary of that fateful day and what I always thought was the start to the end of the the mental gp years.
Agree Phantom .Looking back on You tube or old DVDs you had the bikes the nutters the tracks every race was just that " A Race" not keeping back in forth to preserve a bit of tyre these boys thrashed the bikes win it or bin it ! Full. On no mercy and unless they start stripping all the crap off the bikes it will be a choice of which robot wins out of three .Hang on that's Whats going on now!
I agree, the technology is starting to make it a bit more like an computer game, albeit with the human risk element.........perhaps it is just my age though. I often find myself stuck between two opposing positions regarding my own bike. On one hand, I love the fact that I have no specific aides on my bike that take away the 'skill' of riding a bike fast and safely. On the other hand.......I sometimes crave such things as a quickshifter, slipper clutch and traction control. Perhaps at my age I should grab all the help I can get and get everything there is to make riding easier lol now where is my frame ?
I hate the slipper on the blade, wouldnt mind a quickshifter...more for the pops when shifting lol. the show was talking about how vicious the 500's were and how easy it was to spit you off, bring them back
if ya want spitting off, ride in the wet with a generous throttle opening. spoken by the voice of experience. and painful memories.
my worst was a 60mph high side, felt like slow mo as I flew through the air but when I landed it was sky earth sky earth etc real fast lol
