Can't beleive this thread hasn't had much interest. The lad is a class act and deserves the ride he's got. Well done Scotty, a true gp rider with bags of talent, personality and a winners attitude. Little confused about the "production" bike he will ride in the 1st year, it's the same bike stoner was testing and I thought the circa 100k v4 road bike that's coming out... But is that CRT? Satellite? Or somewhere in between?? Apparently he gets a factory bike in year two.... And least Honda usually give full support to non repsol riders so a smart move too. Can't wait.
I never really watched the Moto2 until this year, always just the GP, so I missed marquez in his Moto2 days, was he more of a threat in that class than Scott Redding is currently? How do they compare as riders?
Pleased for Scott Redding , he has talent and works hard. Have a few doubts though that he will ever be a top three Moto GP rider. As for your question Tyke, IMO Scott is a long way from being a Marquez, Marquez is I think one of those riders that only comes along very rarely. His talent is special and he may become one of the all time greats if he continues in racing.
Great news for Scott - he is a talented rider for sure. A great deal landing a seat at Gresini too - top bike for a rookie!
Agree exfire, don't think he is as special as Marquez, but I honestly think Marquez is a game changer much like Rossi, and potentially stoner. Ped and JR are amazing but just small improvement on the standard Rossi set IMO. He can go on to dominate if you ask me. As for reading, he's leading the title with against some class acts, weather he will be top three or not, time will tell and depend greatly on the bikes he is given. As that's so crucial to success in motogp, whereas moto2 the talent tends to rise to the top on equal (ish) machinery.
