Day started off well ha ha . Had practice and I felt ok but knew I could be quicker Qualifying went well I was 11th out of 21 that's all classes 400cc 600cc 1000cc mega bikes and 4th in my class . So race 1 started off the grid and I got away well and began to push with 3 laps to go 8th overall and 2nd in my class I missed my braking marker so I banked as much as I could and stupidly tried to pull out too much throttle highsided and snapped my foot peg off with my back when I landed . I got up fell back down this I don't remember but in the ambulance and off to hospital as my back had swelled up . X rays came back ok but a problem with a lower disc but said it looked like a old injury ? . I can hardly move but been discharged and on way home I'm just so pissed off that I only had 4 laps to go but hey ho . I loved racing and I'll be back next year what a lovely bunch of people at hottrax everyone said hello and made me feel welcome and calmed my nerves . Thanks to all medical staff and people helping my dad and mate load van up
Sh1t! Glad your ok mate, and glad it's not put you off. I came off my r6 a few years back in a similar way I found it quite twitchy and wanted to throw me off a few times before it threw us across the road into a learner car! Hope you recover soon mate
Yikes Martin !!! But no I'm hurt but not out thanks phantom rider error but I really enjoyed it and it won't put me off I know it I'd go back put now if I could move
DUDE!!!! Mixed reactions from me! Don't ever wanna see a buddy hurt, but well done for your first race mate! Looks like you smoked a few of em! Still jelous..
Gutted for you Wedgie, but the main thing is that you are ultimately ok. Sounds as though you had a good start to it all, which makes your off all the more annoying. At least you know why you had your off though, that can often help with the learning curve. Anyway, get yourself better real soon and all set for a new season next year.
Looks like it started off well for you, and you can remember everything that happened. Hopefully nothing is broken and you recover quickly. Well done with the results BTW (other than the last one obviously).
Not the update I was expecting wedgie hope you not to sore mate and at least you have got your first race out the way so you know what to expect next time .
Thanks everyone I can't wait for next year and yeah I know it was my own fault so I know I van move on from it I'm gonna try get better and get a TD booked just to get me moving again . Only thing that is bothering me is that where the bleed Is just above my arse it's like a sack and it's hanging I keep touching it and it does not feel like its part of me weird lol I can feel myself all tightening up the only thing I was thinking in ambulance is if it was red flagged and it was declared a race would I still get the finish ? Then I thought probably not you div if you caused it ha ha R6 is beat up but that will be fixed me gonna take a little longer ha ha Thanks again everyone
2nd in your class awesome stuff mate! Sounds like if you can relax a little you're onto a win there Get some grapes down you and a few jeremy kyle sessions
Ouch! Glad to hear you are (mostly) OK. Hope they've given you some real gooood painkillers. Kudos for going well up to that point
Glad you're ok mate that sounds painful.Hope you heal up well Wedgie.Your pace proves you are good at racing, with lying in second place before the error.I'd be pleased with that too. They better watch out when you get back out there next season
Terrible way to end your first race, but seriously congrats on having the balls to get stuck in. Hope the healing is quick
