Hi All, My name is Nick, I'm new to this forum having spent most of my time on a Daytona Forum. Just recently sold my 2009 Yamaha Yzf R1 crossplane and traded my Triumph Daytona 675 in against an 09 HRC Edition Fireblade. I test rode an RR08 and loved every minute of it even forgot the mrs was on the back until I heard the screams. Just wanted to say hi to you all and look forward to speaking with you and if anybody lives near me and could show me some good roads around Essex I would really appreciate it as I am originally from Kent so still learning my way around. Anybody like me still ride all the way through winter?
Hi Nick and welcome to the forum and Bladedom. Lot's on here ride all year around so You'll be in good company. On another note, I'd like to add that anything I said about Basildon in another thread recently is purely coincidental and by no means based on actual events. Ahemm...
Haha. Excellent dude. That's good to know this is my 4th Winter riding now still haven't resorted to heated grips yet and couldn't bear to put them on the new blade so thinking heated gloves might be better for this year unless people have better ideas on how to keep the hands warm on a 30-40 mile commute which, is a mixture of fast roads and town riding?
Welcome Nick...... You ll get lots of sound advise from the boys here....... you ll have to let us know how it compares to your previous forum......as I often read posts from our deserted members who don't seem to stay away long once the novelty of chatting elsewhere has worn off !......
Thanks guys much appreciated. Looking forward to learning all there is to know about the Blade. I hear from the dealer that there is a new model coming out next year too? Am thinking of getting a repsol one as well too but been told by the dealer to wait until the new year for the next model but he couldn't give me much info on it as he said Honda are keeping very quiet about it apparently?
Thanks dude have to say epic forum so far seen loads of useful threads makes a change from the Yam forums that were a nightmare to navigate.
Welcome Nick.....just down the road in Westcliff so ride outs are on in the Spring for sure.......afraid I'm an FWB once the clocks go back so she is all wrapped up for the forseeable future. Rewy.rr is a Bas boy as well.......so I'm sure he will be along soon. Got a fantastic mechanic as well as when you need a service etc based at Rayleigh Weir....Rewy can vouch for him as well.... Enjoy the commutes matey and stay safe
Awesome thanks for that dude massively appreciated as good mechanics are hard to come by. Looking forward to ride outs in the spring and thanks dude I'll be up and down the A13 most days and the A127 too currently using a very noisy old carb R6 that's being sold off to my mate on Saturday. Had to reduce my stable from 4 bikes to just one and thought if you could only have one bike it has to be a Fireblade. Although the mrs is slowly coming round to the idea of me buying a new blade in the new year then keeping one as track and one as everything else. Looking forward to trying out some new roads I hear Essex has some cracking ride outs to offer.
Hi Mate Fellow Bas rider here.... c u at the Turpin in the spring...but I do ride all year round (but not when there is grit/snow on the road)
Cheers Gents. Looking forward to the Turpin in the spring never managed to make it there this year with one thing or another but hoping that will be different next year always looks like a good crowd that go there saw the mass turn out for the Air Ambulance ride out was gutted to be stuck in my cage that day.
