how long can you leave your bike without starting it before the battery will be so drained that it wont start ? I took mine out today but it has been sat untouched for the last 7 weeks. I was expecting to need the battery charger but to my suprise it started straight away, and I thought that the 2008+ models were fitted with a small rubbish battery
Think it depends on stuff like if u have an alarm n the state of your battery in the first place ( before u park up ) n wether or not ur bike is left outside to the elements n freezing night time temps. If in a garage that is joined to the house, you shud be ok for 3 - 4 weeks but 7 weeks is really good going am well impressed
Its in my garage but its not heated so my battery must be in quite good condition. I dont have an alarm though or anything else like that to drain any power
Couple of years ago mine came in the house for 4 months over winter, I took the battery off when she came in and when i refitted she fired up first go.
On my old bikes mine would fail after 2 weeks, i was always having to put the charger on or starting it up. So this year i bought a optimizer just so i can forget about the worry & hassle over the winter
I got into the habit of just charging the battery then pulling it out the bike to stop any possible power drains, battery is left in a non heated garage sitting on a wooden block (dont leave a battery sitting on concrete floors!) for months without needing any top up charges (checked via smart charger) refit battery in spring n bikes ready to rock! Only had to change battery on current bike due to regulator/rectifier cooking the battery when it failed, last bike done 3 years using the above method without any issues! Think the worst things for batteries are mostly the cold spells and partially drained batteries being left long periods without being topped up by chargers, or something wired in the bike draining power out of the battery, alarms are the most common culprits! During rainy summer season use I can leave bike for weeks n bike turns over without any issues. Alarm switched off on bike as garage is locked n alarmed instead!
Mine is drained after only 2 weeks, its the alarm that sucks the life out of it. Bikes tucked away now until it warms up with the battery on an optimate. Roll on April or May.
So from all of your comments I am realising how fortunate I was having let the bike sit for so long. I wish I could leave it charging over winter but with no power in my garage I dont really have a choice

I have a Datatool alarm and it would completely flatten the Motobatt battery within 24hrs. I got an ordinary lead-acid battery and it's fairs much better..2-3 days is the longest I've dared leave it but it still fired up. Though now it's plugged into an Optimate as I cant see the Blade getting many outings over the next couple of weeks.
