So, come on, lets have it..... Heres Mine!! Started by getting this back shortly before xmas... I did a day on it like this before giving it a makeover Did 2 days on it like this before getting offered silly money for it, along with an r6 in P/X, i tarted the R6 up and repaired the knackered motor and sold it looking like this... I had no intention of keeping it, infact i was looking for an 08 onwards Blade, anyway the R6 sold, so i then bought my old mans ex racebike that he sold at the back end of 2009... it looked like this then..... and it looked like this when i bought it back.... I did the majority of the year on it then sold it, again intending to buy an 08 onwards blade, but this lured me.... And 2 days after being told about it i bought it, and did a day on it, looking like this... And thats that for this year, shoulder operation on 10th November then off the bike for 4-5 months!
This has been a cracking year for me for once my first sports bike My first Track day My first Mega Euro Tour my bike before I bought it big meet with mates first trackday first tour of Europe
quite an eventful one for me Lots of freezing work through the winter got the gixer 600 out of winter hibernation early rode soon as the roads were half clear remember pulling up nearly crying with my fingers got to april time and got an offer of an amazing norton 650ss for sale with only one owner from new promised never to sell it which i never will and she was mine had to pick her up from down south though so while looking about spotted this beauty brand new with quick shifter rearsets and a arrow pipe for my gixer + 1500 quid trade in was 2 hours away from the norton so sort of made sense haha did a spot of fishing in between lots of photography working
and began to run the 675 engine in and thats when all hell broke loose took her for the first service and they blew the motor and tried to let me ride away with it howling its head off then they fixed that t then they blew the rectifier then fixed the rectifier and the ecu pinned itself on the redline in a bend and the kill switch didnt work on me in a bend 2 miles from the shop nearly killed me it did worst bit they noticed it was doing it on idle they fix that then brake the quick shifter then that was enough after they fixed the quick shifter bike had covered 10 miles in total over 2 moths through those problems 3 weeks before isle of man so went and did this goodbye 675 had a chat with Tony at Padgetts told him what happened and they took care of me why hello fireblade so pretty then we went to the TT epic times went to the gold cup and got absolutely completely drenched but was a good trip photography wise Steve Henshaw Gold Cup | Facebook and finally disaster happens after 4 years of no incidents road and track bin the blade at maximum lean hitting some diesel on a bend id been round at least 2400 times yup we did actually work it out haha absolutely gutted nearly fixed now though just awaiting paint work and a smattering of parts
checked the leathers out not to bad but the stiching is recked down that right arm stood up to the job an so did my arai and awesome teknic gloves saved my hands they truly did decided on the new leathers and boots and got a new helmet and am just fixing the blade back together now getting there finally and decided on a massive list of modifications to sort the grumbles I had after coming from the 675 and Thats my year up to now just waiting for the nec show really enjoying this thread keep them coming everyone Tom
