Again, inspired by Dan. I had a Daytona 650 before the Blade, and i can honestly say at the time that i would never get rid. I spent a fortune on it, 3 different cans, loads of carbon bits, dyno tuning, Pc3..the lot. Spent 3 happy years, but i wanted to scratch the litre bike itch. It was a stunning bike, quite rare in comparison to the cbr600/gsxr600/kwak 600 and superb handling. I ummed and arred about getting rid, so in Jan this year i went to Manchester with my youngest just to look around Hunts, and get a macdonalds, and ended up buying the Blade. This was the day my Daytona went in the back of the Hunts van: in exchange for this: No mods so far, and a week later i added an Evotech tail tidy, carbon front mudguard, rear hugger and can cover and a rear cowl: Then a Honda Racing tank pad and filler surround: Then came the heel guards in carbon:
A week or so later, i spotted carbon mirror covers, so being a carbon fan, i added these too: Next came carbon seat sides and yoke cover: Not content with bikes still coming with silver cheap levers as standard, i opted for some ASV levers, as a week before i had some el cheapo ebay hong kong levers, but they where awful. So, asv ordered with the gold adjusters. Next up, some Ilmberger carbon frame protectors. Don't get me worng, i love the silver frame, but it was marking like buggery, and i can't have that, can i? : I also added some tech spec gripster tank pads: Next up, some Hel lines, in gold and carbon to match the bike:
After having some gilles rear sets on the Triumph, i wanted to do something about the standard Honda ones, but really didn't want a set of Gilles. Although excellent, i spent a fortune on them, and got sod all when i sold them on, so decided to powder coat some standard ones to finish the look off. I bought a set of unused rear sets for £50 off this forum, and sent them off to get power coated: I also added some Yoshi bar ends: Then came the opportunity to buy some brand new Rizoma led indicators off here, and i ordered some Rizoma pegs to go on the newly powder coated rear sets: Anyway, still a work in progress, as i want some other Rizoma bits, and some more carbon, but unpo now i'm very happy! Churz!
After the first tyre change, and a swop to Metzelers, i took the bike to Motrac racing in Cheshire to get my suspension sorted: A great mod, and although a tad stiff on bumpy roads, it corners on rails on smooth surfaces.
Loving the bike mate hunts are brilliant arn't they love the rearset pegs top stuff keep up the mint work
Si the bar ends I got your link you posted on the to the thread but the only ones on that link was Oxford bar ends. I would really like some but finding it hard to locate them
Phone Dave here mate, i got them from him, a top bloke and a good mate: So Many Roads 0151 327 2888 Tell him Si with the blade sent you. He deals with Yoshi, its just that it isn't on his site.
Thanks Benn! i love it to bits...she's me baby! I'm trying to keep it subtle, replacing like for like colours, i.e black bits with black bits, otherwise I'm in danger of having the bike looking like a christmas tree. The only thing i'm not too sure of , are the yoshi engine covers, but i don't like the look of the other brands, so these are staying.
Nah mate they look the bollox, only the trained eye will spot them, very subtle indeed I love them, as soon as you see the colour you just know their quality cus only yoshi are that colour!!!
