I didn't want to hijack another thread on here but a comment on the other thread got me wondering.
Has anybody ever felt that wearing two piece leathers as opposed to one piece leathers in an accident felt they would've faired better had they been wearing one piece items.

I've had both and never really felt like there was any difference in protection level. The only reason I've opted to stick with one-piecers was because of the comfort factor when riding. I really notice the bulk of the jacket to trouser connector part with two piece leathers.

Have got both 1 & 2 piece leathers and like both for different reasons! If travelling long distance then 2 piece due to toilet breaks, if track days then 1 piece

Also had both and would never go back from a one piece, it feels more protective than a 2 piece.

When I first got my one piece it was certainly awkward to put on and get off but after a while it becomes second nature.

The comfort while riding feels better, I just feel I have more mobility.

The only downside if it's a baking hot day and your having a walk around your destination or in a cafe wrapping the top part around your body is a bit of a pain

Totally agree on having a baby grow if you are doing track days.

For the everyday riding its 2 piece for me. I like being able to just take off the jacket on a warm day to sit and chill after a ride.

Same as Colin .I have had one piece mainly throughout my time in Biking but although they feel good once up and running they are a real pain otherwise either walking in them getting on or off .I now have a two piece as well and there is a massive difference in comfort .Going and returning from Devon last year I used the two piece and just as well because the weather was boiling and when we stopped for petrol or a breather it was nice to slip the jacket off .Back to the question I don't consider there to be a safety issue as a decent quality suit would be tested and a suit is only designed for a slight off anyway.

I always wear my one piece, got a two piece but it doesn't feel as comfy or safe as my one piece

1 piece for me as well. Can definitely be awkward from the convenience point of view but happy to put up with that for the comfort. I had mine made albeit some years ago so they fit great, as long as I don't need to breath !

I just prefer 1 piece over 2, as other's have pointed out they can be a pain to wear in the summer when stopping for coffee/loo breaks etc, but for security/safety you cant go wrong with a good quality 1 piece.

Defo one piece form me. The zip on my RST two pice suit got unstiched after relatively slow speed fall at Donington Park few years ago.
I'm considering getting one piece Alpinestars Atem for this season.

I used to wear 2 piece leathers all the time. This changed when I had an of when on track in cartagena. I was getting pulled along with my right foot caught under the subframe. I twisted my body over onto my front, this caused the stitching on the zip to open up. The smell of sizzling bacon was accompanied by the shear burn of my stomach.
On track defo 1 piece. I've still got sets of 2 piece, but still not, brave enough to wear.

i wear a one piece because of how confortable it is, the two piece suits ive had before never seem to fit properly.
the waist always seems to big on the bottoms and the way they connect bulky and awkward.
plus the alpinestars sp1 i have has padding on the front which keeps my belly flat ha!!:p

one other point from me.. I have recently bought this 1 piece for this year as the 2 piece was just a pain in the neck with the back protector. I wear a Knox track vest and the join on the suit from the riding position quite often catches on the bottom of the back protector.. haven't been out yet in the new Alpine stars 1 piece yet but wearing it in the house certainly seems to have solved this issue..

Never had a 1 piece as I always seem to need to pee when out on a decent ride. Is bad enough trying to have a dump with just trousers on as I even have to remove my boots. Would go 1 piece for the track though.

Everyone goes on about peeing? I have never had a problem with that? Unzip, flop it out and pee, easy? ;)

Less zip to undo on a 2 piece ;) Mind you I hate button flies on jean as well.
