if you go in fast but come out slower then you lose all that time on the straight, going in fast and coming out faster is the trick, but practice makes perfection, and doesn't happen in the first few years ;-) so sometimes you have to sacrifice some parts to gain in others another tip for you YT - try and keep the difference between brake and getting on the throttle as small as possible, the smaller that gap is the quicker your riding
I normally end up braking into the turn anyway and then trying feed the throttle in slowly. Just grab it sometimes lol
