Hi, Thought I'd introduce myself as new to the forum, looking for a 1000rr ever since I had a go on a mates last year, so as I'm 40 this year thought I'd treat myself... well best laid plans and all that, following the birth of our third (and last) child in January so looks like the bike fund will go on a people carrier for the time being, oh and a new garden fence!! Rock n roll... I've currently got a 929 blade and the missus has a cbr400 nc23. I live in Maidstone so you may see me heading down the A 20 towards Canterbury or doing laps around the Wrotham roundabout before stopping for a cuppa tea and a bacon roll at the Oakdene Cafe on a sunny day. Anyway from what I've seen looks like a friendly forum which keeps me amused in the early hours due to our new baby being nocturnal. Cheers Stuart
Welcome Stuart, there are several of us in or around Maidstone so may bump into you at some point.Congratulations on the little one
Welcome to the forum good luck with the search/saving, we like all bikes so stick pics up of the 929 and the 400. We even let people put other makes on
Here's the 929, i'm getting the head bearing done, new plugs etc for the summer... The 400 I bought for £300 from a ham fisted spanner monkey teenager! It was a non runner, brakes siezed, every nut rounded off etc. Cleaned and balanced carbs, new plugs, filter, oil etc and she ran. Its all tip top now and need to get the wheels / tank sprayed and a chinese fairing on it. I have a second hand Chinese West fairing on at the moment but looks a bit shabby. Might go Konika Minolta colours, what do you think? Once finished i'll post some pics...
Welcome my Kentish friend...enjoy the forum....I had a RRY the same colour as that, though after 95K miles it did not look quite as shiny
Hi matey, I'm in Sidcup and might see you about my travels also, was out Tues, Weds and Thurs evening, waterproofs on each time as wet n cold. Went past the oakdene cafe and no one there as I pasted by, lightweights lol Loved to of been out today, but had to be at work today, so feed up as the sun was out !! Yet to ride in the dry since I passed my test on Tuesday !! Lol
Hi mate and welcome aboard, bike looks great. I was born in Maidstone 58 years ago, never too old to have a Blade. I now live in the wilds of Suffolk but still miss what I will always consider to be 'home'.
Welcome fella from another kenty! In Rochester so only down the road... Drink in the oak and white horse from time to time too
