Germans like their beer so expect a bit of a riot!

Is there camping available at the circuit or you plan to use hotels ? Atmosphere at campsites at GP's can be really good in Europe.

You will love your Euro trip - and it won't be your last I am sure.

As Jimbo wrote its a long trek east but expect you will stop at some famous places on the way

Went a few years ago... Hull to Rotterdam, then straight over to Chemnitz. It is a long ride, 9 hours giving it some stick (still found it strange to overtake a Police BMW on the autobahn, but the copper thought the brits cacking themselves quite funny) Stayed on the motorways......was boring except for racing Audis, porsches, BMW's and everything else including a Ford Transit!!!
Stayed in a lovely 4 star hotel in Chemnitz, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Got a taxi to the track as they get right to the gate, the track is well laid out and beer and food are plentiful, the campsite looked like Mad Max World.
Went to qualifying on Saturday, open ticket, and had pre-booked grandstand seats on finish line for the Sunday, although there are some great viewpoints all around the track
Blasted back on the Monday morning in one go to Rotterdam, seemed quicker coming back.
If I did it again, deffo do a 2 day there and 2 day back with a stopover halfway or thereabouts.

Friends are moving back from Jakarta to Frankfurt this summer - I hope they get there in time as that sounds like a handy stop over point.

I'd do the MadMax camping for 1 or 2 nights - part of the fun is mixing it with locals and they really appreciate the efforts folk make to travel over
