    Anyone got one collecting dust?
Thinking I might go down 1 at the front and I don't want to add un-necessary mileage to the 27k I have already.

Sort of?..............stripped her and found sweet f all wrong!, while she was in bits I ran through the valves, fitted new sparky things, a nice new filter with some nice liquid gold stuff, gutted the intakes, cleaned the K & N's and did a few little mods................but she's still vibs at 5000 rpm. BUT!.............at least I know the balance shaft isn't going to spit out of the crank case at 12000 rpm. I,m now thinking it just might be the secondary injectors coming in at about 5000 rpm, haven't had time to research the theory just yet but I will get there in the end. Darren @ MCT has her at the moment to do some FOC fettling for me, just hope he doesn't set her up too hard.

The upper and lower injectors fire differently depending on what year, for example the later 08 bikes use wheel speed data also, earlier models seem not to, I say seem as I can not put into words how complex the data is for FI timings, it uses all of the sensors MAP, IAP, RPM etc etc etc in real time to set injector duty cycles, it's highly complex and no one other than Honda actually know what's what, if you had a race ECU you would have to setup all of that data, so deg of crank for ignition timings and fuel timings then vary the whole lot across the rev range for best performance, it's MUCH more complex than some may think, those with PCV etc Prob take for granted how easy the PC allows you to correct the AFR, it you could see the raw ECU code you would cry!

Your problem is an interesting one if the vibs are bad, did you get the crank checked for balance? Hid you check the piston weight, fly wheel balance, the best engines are simply matched ones but I guess you'd know that as you seem to know what your up to. :)

To be honest it's not as smooth as some other 06 Blades but if I did,nt tell you, you wouldn't even notice as it only gets noticed at 80mph . Now I know the engine is not going to go bang I'll prob just ignore it . I read on a few US race sites about vibrations at 5000rpm and a few have indicated injectors were indeed the cause. I,m due some Dyno time ( m8 just installed a supadupa new Dyno with brake and stuff) so we might try a few things.. The shells did,nt indicate a balance issue and I did,nt weigh the rods or pistons. Like I said.............now I know the engines good I,ll just live with it.

I might just try and ride it more often........now that's a thought lol:)
