    Hi guys,

the bike has done 5500 miles and i am sure by now there is a lot of sticky stuff hiding behind the cover.

now has anyone removed the cover and how?

do you need to remove the gear selector linkage?

    thanks

Undo the two bolts top and bottom holding the cover to the engine, you'll need to remove the linkage so undo the bolt holding that onto the shaft and move it out the way. There are two wires latched onto the cover at the bottom near the bolt holding it in place, unhook these (messy job) and then remove the cover.

Make sure you put the metal bracket/guard back that comes off too, it's sandwiched between the cover and engine casing.
