if you ? over tighten a oil filter and it weeps slightly and yes i have put oil around the o ring and its not that oil am seeing can u back it of a bit or is that it start all over again ie drop oil and buy a new one
did you tighten it by hand or A wrench? if hand, doubt you could put it on too tight, but if by wrench, the oil filter is probably kapoot
Should be ok I do mine by hand and then a decent tug with the wrench and never had an is due ....but. Within the next hour I am doing an oil change and this may be a little heads up not to go over the top ..Ps I want to see you out tomorrow the pies will still be there when you get back home along with a Man City win.
Filters or their housings can be slightly out of true and this is exaggerated due to their big circumference. Mine weeps slightly because of this but a few extra Nm of torque sorts it.
giv i would of been out tomorrow ( before u say here we go again bul shit lol) am off to scotland at the end of may and we are sorting it all out tomorrow so just havin a quick run to betsy for a brew at the caravan in the layby before u hit betsy and then back to me mates but we are out at 8 oclock not late like you lol but i will defo be out on the next one .o and i hope i have stoped the leak fingers crossed if u see a sad get with a repsol covered in oil at the side of the road dont laugh ?
I would take it off, make sure the seal is seated correctly and not damaged or has a manufacturing fault, check the oil filter isn't kinked warped etc. clean both sealing faces then try again.
