I am the proud owner of a Black (see fastest :p) Blade I have lovingly cleaned and lubed it after every ride, problem is it would appear I've been going about it the wrong way  on sunny days you can see swirls and light scratches ALL OVER the tank, fairings, cowl etc etc...

I was thinking of washing and waxing the bike to within an inch of it's life then getting it ventureshielded, googling my closest VS fitter brings up Revolution Detailing ( Bristol Car Detailing and Valeting) based in Yate, I am very tempted to leave it to the experts and let them wash, wax, polish and VS the bike, it won't be cheap but ultimately worth it I hope.

I know there's a few guys from the Brizzle area on this forum, have any of you come across Revolution in the past any feedback on the company ?

    Thank you

    Julian

Hi Julian, I'm not a million miles from you near wsm. I've always done my own detailing using a random orbital buffer and different compound, waxes and sealants. I enjoy it and find it therapeutic. It's not difficult to detail a bike yourself if you can get the tools and products. With regard to venture shield you will need to remove all the holograms, swirls and imperfections on the paint before application and I've seen it fitted. It does protect the paint to a certain degree but it's not cheap and with it applied the bike/car never quite looks as shiny as it can be. You having a black bike will look amazing once polished and waxed.

If I were you if nip down to galfords and but some Autoglym super resin polish and a bunch of microfibre cloths, ASRP has a very mild cutting agent in it and will remove a majority of the swirls with a bit of elbow grease and then apply a good coat of wax every month. Also never use a sponge or chamois on the paintwork as you'll only swirl it again. Use a lambswool mitt and microfibre to wash and dry.

    Hope that helps.
