May be a daft question but what does a BFR tool look like, I've just noticed the compression adjusters are in different positions on the top of the fork legs, just read the settings section in the manual and it says to use the BFR tool ? it seems odd that the adjusters would be in different positions so I am going to check it, It's a 2011 model with the big piston showa forks.
I'm not sure what your actually wanting to find out about from your question? What are you trying to accomplish? Are you asking why your compression adjusters are on the top of the fork leg instead of the bottom like older usd forks seen on pre big piston forks(BPF)? I have never heard of a BFR tool......where abouts is it mentioned in the manual? I thought all that was required to adjust the BPF's was a plain screwdriver to adjust the compression and rebound settings and an Allen key to adjust the preload at the bottom of the fork leg!
BFR tool is the tiny tool for adjusting rebound/compression screws. It's in the back of the 2012-> toolkit, but you can also use a flat head screwdriver
BFR tool is mentioned in the handbook in the adjusting the suspension section. the compression adjuster is on the top of the fork legs on mine and the right hand adjuster seems to be in a different position to the left hand fork leg, obviously both sides should be set the same so I was looking in the handbook for the standard settings so I can check the adjusters and that is where it says to only use the BFR tool.
Screwdriver is much better than the flimsy bit of steel they give you, unless you want to scratch up the anodised fork caps?
