Going to install a Sigma Slipper Clutch in my SP2 anybody have any good tips or advice to make the job go as simple as possible.

Is there still a Honda Dealer on the site who gives members a club discount as I need to buy an OEM Clutch pack and a gasket for the clutch cover.

Why do you need to buy an OEM clutch pack ??
When I installed my Sigma clutch I used the existing clutch, also does it have a clutch cover gasket, mine never it was a bead of sealant around the flange.

    My bike is an RR7

Give Neil a call at Sigma clutches, he will answer any install questions and is very helpful.

    Cheers for the reply.

Yes it has a gasket. It probably won't need replacing but if it gets damaged when removing, I don't want to be in the position where I have to order one and wait a week with the bike off the road.

It was Neil Spalding who recommended changing the friction plates at the same time and the best to use were OEM Honda was his advice.

I was thinking of doing it myself and doesn't seem a big job.

If its not too cheeky out of interest how much were you charged ?

It's not a bad job to do, the only "special" tool you will need is a 30mm 12 point socket to remove the clutch basket and a clutch holding tool unless you have an impact wrench to undo and re-tighten the nut.
Set of clutch plates can be bought from eBay for not a lot of cash.
I know when I did mine Neil did suggest changing one friction plate, there is one with a gap in it that a spring sits in.
He said that if I was going to be doing a lot of track time and hammering the slipper then I should put a standard plate in and take out the springs as it will wear that plate out first.

Depends on what kind of use you are planning for the bike and what kind of mileage it has already.

Crikey that's cheap, I can see why you didn't bother yourself.

Who was it that did the work.

    Cheers for the info.

Is the 30 mm 12 point socket specific to the RR7 ? as there is no mention of it in the SP2 Workshop manual just the clutch holding tool.

Easy to fit and service, last for years :)

Mine fitted to my RR7 :D

Nut runner is best bet for undoing main hub nut, hold the hub with a rag (I do) and rattle it undone with a gun rather than a cheap clutch holding tool, a good hub tool fits round the whole hub unlike the cheaper mole grip style tools that mark the hubs!

The sigma comes with an install CD with full instructions :)

Its 2 hours max, so approx £70.00 for most I'd guess. I've sold them at RRP with free fitting.

What he said :D ^^^^....it's how I did mine..

Though if you can get it done for £50 as Wedgie did, then that is a good price if you're not confident about doing the job :)

The gubbins of the sp1 clutch setup can be found in this thread when we swapped out Colin's sp1's clutch plates.

The big nut is clearly visible which would allow the clutch basket to be removed and install the sigma unit if that's how it is installed! Never fitted an aftermarket slipper unit but just goin from what's being said.
