Having a few vids on GoPro now, I fancy messing about with them but can't seem to get them to work/or how to do it with iMovie? Or any recommendations for other editing software?

    Thanks in advance

Is there not a mac version of gopro's cineForm?

Here is a link to cineform downloads on gopro site.

Here's a tutorial Gopro released to show exactly what you need to do to import gopro videos into iMovie.

QuickTime Pro can do it, but as Cineform is free you may as well use that and it should do what you need it to do.

I use VLC. Free download and removes all the stuttering you sometimes get with Quicktime and iMovie.:)

iMovie should be a breeze mate, import the clips into iPhoto.
then open your iMovie then all media, photos, movies are their ready to import.
V easy and quck to edit too.

see: (obviously not a blatant plug for my youtube channel...at all? :roll eyes: )

Pretty sure VLC is just a video player but the OP is wanting to edit not just watch captured videos, although there is an off shoot of VLC called VideoLan Movie Creator (VLMC) for editing videos!

Hmmm, maybe a brief guide to using iMovie might help some of you, who don't fancy shelling out more money.
Let me know if this would help people or if your not too bothered lol

Ill shoot some very short clips and put together a quick movie on general use of iMovie as soon as I can then.
obviously they're are loads of keyboard shortcuts and difference between versions, so Ill keep to the menus and basic operations.

For very basic movie editing, I just use YouTube ... iMovie (or any other vid editing soft) takes a lot from your system if your not running a modern MacBook. Arrghh, crap, I just need to invest in a new MacBook :-( :)

I tried the youtube thing but they all seemed to have a slightly different version to mine !

I have about a 20 minute patience window with such things before i jack it in and wander back onto here again :)

All i wanted to do was phase the sound of the engine and wind out after about 30 seconds and slam in some stabbing rock metal track, and also cut out a few boring bits where stuck in the traffic, but no...
