Isn't there rules about the Manx GP, meaning that the likes of Hickman, Danny Webb, Jessop couldn't have entered it ?
However I don't see why anyone on here couldn't as long as they haven't been in a national championship or whatever the ruling is.

    As for MD.
I have never seen someone get a bike so out of shape, yet look in so much control of the thing (if that makes sense).
Going to be the one to beat from now on.
Only way someone else is going to win the senior is if MD's bike breaks down.

McGuinness withdrawn from today's supersport to at least give him a slight chance of making an impact in the senior.
    Feel sorry for McPint.

    Manx GP

In 1930 came the birth of the Manx Grand Prix. New regulations had been drawn up and it was no longer a race for amateurs, but with experts barred. The rules included: “All entrants, who shall be the drivers, must be British or Irish subjects resident in the British Isles or the Irish Free State, and must hold open competition licences. They must not, since 1920, have been entered as a competitor in any international road race or have held any world motorcycling record. The race to be for machines of up to 350cc and 500cc, and to be over six laps of the TT Course, the meeting to be known as the Manx Grand Prix”

Hats off to the guy. Head and shoulders above the other guys as is the bm it seems.. I think the bm will suffer mechanical failure today :p

Only way md won't finish on the top step.. Kids phenomenal . Tt lightweight first so a good chance md will finish the day on 12 victories. Unbelievable at 25.. Both md and bmw have been phenomenal all week

The combination of the power of the BMW and MD's aggressive style seem a match made in heaven. The guy is an awesome rider and potentially could beat Joey's record. I think some of his motivation to win is to stop JM from beating Joeys record. Of course he won't flinch from trying to break it himself and who could blame him for that lol.

Trade it in mate the BMW dealers will give you what you paid for it minus the VAT of course that's what they did for me.

wonder how well the Bm's will sell now?! old phrase "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" comes to mind.

no disputing the BM is an awesome bike.... as is the blade (lets not go there) but sure it's not for everyone.... but amazes me how many people buy bikes just because of it's current win rate / bragging rights.

none of this is based on comments above chaps so put ya petrol away lol.... just a thought!

Apparently ducati sales are way down (1199 not 899) from what I hear.... maybe their current wsb and bsb form is hurting them?

Strange really... as none of us scratch the performance of these things on the road, they are all adequate imo so should just come down to price, looks, personal preference, and how it feels to you?

when I bought the blade I was convinced i'd get the bmw - latest and greatest and all that, rode it, hated the electronics, was far to intrusive and pissed me off on road... tried blade and loved the grunt, easy handling and of course it was on decent deals at the time.

plus the bm salesman was a c0ck and tried to treat me like a kid as I was 27 at the time so guess he thought I couldn't afford it. his loss.

I'm not parting with mine nick. I love it..I did look at a hp4 or a one off aprc factory but decided against it. Bought my 600rr trackbike with any spare money I had so not an option now. I think I've got the best of both worlds .. In ideal world we could have both but reality often prevails :(

Good choice of words jimbo.. Accurate and honest.. Just for the record tho no other bm at the tt has done a 130 lap so the big difference is md.. Connor was only 0.7 of a mile an hour down tho at the sulby speed trap so encouraging signs

All the bikes are fantastic .. It's a great era we are in. I'd love to see the formula one days of the 500 2 strokes back. Them things were Barmey

Ah yes the unrideables definitely some poke behind those things lol. I get what you're saying Jimbo however in my defence I bought my BMW about 3 weeks before the TT so I'm very happy with how well it's done at the TT and the performance of mine is just staggering. Can't see me parting with it until the end of the 3 year deal and even then I think I'll just buy the thing it's been such an amazing bike to ride and has been the only bike I've owned where I've started to at CF parts with any real interest.

Like you say it all comes down to personal preference I'm really interested to see what appears at this years bike show....

I know mate, which is why I was clear to say it's not based on the above.

glad you like it, id didn't get on with the first gen bike but understand it's a whole different bike now so maybe try one again? certainly my next track / race bike wont be a blade :( as others offer a better track package... hate ZX's to look at but as a track tool it ticks the boxes and is good value so prob be one of these next, for the road, who knows, it'll just be something that takes my fancy and handles well.... power isn't a factor for me really as I was just as quick on road on my r6 than my blade or now current road bike a 04 R1, just have to work it harder, but also increases the reward.

don't get me wrong, 1000cc power is very nice to have though! ;)

don't think anyone should have to defend your choice of bike, it's your bike lol

I was the same mate had the 1st gen S1000RR and nearly killed myself took me 2 and a half years before I would ride one again and the newer models are much much better the power delivery is smooth and constant much like the blade and the noise is just something else I love it. I have to say though for track not much beats the ZX10 it just seems to be the tool for the job they've always been strong bikes and just seem to be getting stronger. That being said I loved my big bang R1 and if I could have another one again I probably would as it was a giggle to ride I really regret not taking that on track. But I think as you said whatever gives you the grin factor is the best thing all round really.

I don't care what bikes people ride. Riding a Honda doesn't mean I will like a racer, Stoner and Pedrosa are proof of that, likewise riding a BMW doesn't mean I will dislike the rider. However for some unknown reason I just don't seem to like MD. Doesn't mean he is a bad rider, hell the results show that not to be true, but at the same time being a winner doesn't mean I have to like him. In real life MD may be an absolutely top bloke, and Marc Marquez may be an absolute tosser, but I know who I would rather watch, listen to,and god forbid go on a ride with.

Some people will go to BMW because of the TT, but most will hopefully move because they believe it to be a better bike for them. Many on here have said that Honda seem to be lagging somewhat at the moment and that is despite the MotoGP results so results aren't always everything. End of the day most bikes are pretty firking amazing these days so ride whatever you want and enjoy the old tech/rusty sump/crap paint/expensve service banter:D

EDIT - Bugger I missed banter off the end :(
