He was bloody awful wasn't he ?
Shame as it was a cracking game, but he just sounded like someone shat in his tea.
England were unlucky too, and were nowhere near as bad as I thought they would be.
Nor as defensive as I thought a Roy Hodgson team would be.

I put a comment on the bbc sport Facebook page about how boring he was, as did loads of other people. Bloody bbc have removed them all, only airing our thoughts; after all we pay for the service

Have to agree with the above, though not a football supporter i did watch the first half of Englands match and thought Phil Nevilles commentary was terrible. Worse than watching paint dry more like listening to paint dry.

I was thinking exactly the same thing after the first 5 mins of him droning on. Jeez - like the audio equivalent of Valium! :p

Nigel Mansell would have been more interesting.... !!

I also remember the BBC employing Chris Coleman as a commentators sidekick, he had such a strong welsh accent (isn't it) I couldn't understand what he was droning on about either.

BBC - EMPLOY A SIDEKICK WITH A BIGGER PERSONALITY THAN A CHAIR ... THX BYE ... What about Clarkson.... ? Even when we lose it would be bloody funny.

And.... and.... Jonathan Pierce, completely out foxed by goal line technology which worked exactly as it should in the France game... what a cock!

I would have thought that BBC thought Phil might be like his bro Gary, who is excellent and knows his stuff.
Although appears to be a bit busy at the moment
Phil has said he will improve, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt

It'd be good if Danny Murphy got the England game tomorrow, he's doing really well in the Spain Vs Chilli game, get him on a plane.

A shame Spain are going out though, they've treated us to some great football in the past six years, they've had a great run.

I'm not so much bothered about tonight's game, I'm just hoping holland win the Jules and maybe kick Germany's ass again in the final.
