As above really. Some of me bolts are starting to furr up and go dull. So I priced up some SS and Ti bits and bobs. Here's what I found: Race Bolt Caliper Bolts Front £39.46 Ti SS £N/A Front Disc Bolts £53.64 Ti SS £35.52 Rear Sprocket Nuts £22.82 Ti SS £15.24 Pro Bolt Caliper Bolts Front £57.55 Ti SS £22.97 Front Disc Bolts £96.84 Ti SS £57.50 Rear Sprocket Nuts £38.95 Ti SS £22.36 Quite a big difference in pricing if you ask me. I mean the Ti package alone Racebolt is £77.42 cheaper
Would be good to know the answer to this as I am looking at new Stainless Steel fairing and screen bolts: Pro Bolt Fairing kit - £72.47 Screen kit - £14.62 Postage (1st Class standard) - £2.50 Total - £90.08 Speedy fasteners Fairing & Screen Kit - £37.00 Postage (Recorded Delivery) - £2.50 Total - £39.50 Are Pro Bolt bolts and bits really twice as good as other peoples?
Good question, you guys should give Phil a call at Racebolt he's a great guy to talk to and passionate about his nuts and bolts, you never know he may do group buys and discounts for forum members Phil at racebolt on 01179 654654 Oh and I may add, racebolt used hi grade steel or Ti and roll threads etc the same as ProBolt, they supply many a top team too and make them all in house unlike other top brands What you should ask is where do the others buy the bolts and are you just paying the extra as a mark up in price!
OK, so they are better quality product. Suppose I just have to decide if I can justify the expense, part of me says yes, other bit says sod it I can buy another cheap kit in a few years if it needs replacing and it would still be cheaper. Small world time, just noticed that Race Bolt are about a 1/2 mile up the road from where I used to live, and is on the site of the factory where my dad used to work for over 20 years. Looks like the only do Ti kits though.
Basically they are greedy MOFO's but they are popular and saves the hassle of trawling eBay but I got 6 gold titanium sprocket nut for £24 of eBay and they are cracking quailty!
Some of the cut thread bolts on eBay are crap, I have seen a few that don't even match up well with my thread gauge, imo sometimes for major parts like brakes it's worth the peace of mind to buy approved, tried and tested parts from a quality company like Racebolt.
Well I contacted Racebolt via their website to see if they do fairing kits. Name dropped you as well to see if I can get a sneaky discount seeing as how you plastered them all over your twitter account
These are the ones I got you do have to use thread lock with them but no issues with the threads! PRO SPEC BOLT TITANIUM GOLD SPROCKET NUTS FIT HONDA CBR1000RR FIREBLADE 08-12 | eBay
I used Racebolt a couple of months ago for some 1 off disc bolts (slightly longer shoulder) due to having to space the discs out a little (R1 BSTs to Blade) Phill was extremely helpfull and informative regarding my request, he also recommended making them on the back of a run of standard disc bolts to keep the cost at a reasonable level as it would mean only slight tooling changes as opposed to a full set up, I just had to wait a little longer for them which wasn't a problem The bolts are pretty gorgeous too nice clean broaching, turning & rolling Highly recommended
Cool sounds like these Racebolt chaps know their onions. Wonder if they can manufacture some fork leg pinch bolts and maybe the rear axle nut tooo ;-0 Wee email being typed up
