As Halfords had a special offer on Castrol Power 1 (full synthetic) I thought I would teat the bike to a change from the semi synthetic Castrol Power. This was three rides ago so about 500 - 600 miles since being changed. Initially I though the bike felt very smooth but this weekend I've had loads of dodgy gear changes - a couple of occasions where it would not drop into 1st gear and then revving the engine while in neutral and generally not the usual smooth changes I am used too. The only upside is that it would normally have burnt a small amount of oil but nothing so far.

Has anyone else had similar problems using this oil?

    Thanks - Steve

Yes! Yes! Yes! Steve! Castrol is poo! :D I never understood why Honda recommends this oil  I know it's largely down to corporate deals and racing sponsorship but i suppose it's whoever gave Honda the most amount of dosh and nothing to do which oil suit the Blade best ;)

Oh well so much for my bargain Castrol oil it's got to go for some of that super dooper silkolene energy stuff. Thanks chaps I'm glad that's all that the problem is. So strange as I've never had the problem with the old semi synthetic.

Rock Oil synthetic is worth a look if you can get it, used it on my 04 with good results.
