Just bought a DataTool S4 C1 Red Alarm - was removed from a Ducati.

the guy has labelled the wires as he removed them...

Can someone tell me where i can find the following to tap into on a RR9 Blade:

    Fuel Pump
    Starter Relay

Also any pointers on fitting were i should put the unit?

    thanks

Coincidentally, I have just removed mine; what a complete PITA it was!

Mine plugged into a white factory installed socket in the loom under the seat; if yours has the same socket, you should pick up your feeds there even if your S4 isn't fitted with the plug.

I wouldn't touch the fuel pump, I have seen installs on Honda fuel pumps that have caused running faults.
I use the starter relay (prob yellow/red, get the right one, there are 2) for the start immobiliser and the starter lock out/side stand circuit green/white for the engine immobiliser. Check my wire colours on your wiring diagram before you cut anything.

Is there a quick way of me testing the alarm?

i found an installer - charging £80 to come to me and install...

He said that unless the alarm was put into service mode before being removed and has not been off the bike for more then 3 weeks it should be ok...otherwise it will not work as it all goes out of sync and the code will not work.

    anyone got any idea's?

TBH it's been a long long time since I did installations & I'm struggling to remember but if you follow the wiring from the side stand switch to where it joins the main loom and the same for the starter relay you will probably be able to find a single spot in the loom to cut in where you will find both circuits. Have you got a wiring diagram?

I only have this photo which I took near the end of the "extraction". The white plug hanging down with the link inserted is the plug in question; it had been properly merged into the main loom but I had it bare whilst I was working things out. You wont have the link, I was working out which wire to reconnect when my indicators no longer worked.

This is a photo I found on the net of the other end which is factory fitted to the S4.

I have one fitted, never had any problems except battery drain definitely need a optimiser, I will have a look tomorrow under the seat and see where she plugs into on the main wiring.

I had major battery issues with mine on - as in don't stop more than twice without clocking up a few miles or leave the bike standing for more than 2/3 days- I took it off ( it was installed by a top mechanic who has fitted plenty in case you are wondering) and the worries disappeared? Co- incidence? I think not. Just saying.
