I'm going to give 520 conversion a go and I want to change the gearing for more acceleration. I have a 15t front sprocket, just wondering what other people are running on the rear sprocket. My original thought was -1 +2 so 15/44 has anyone else tried this? What was the top speed lowered too?
I was also interested in reducing front sprocket for more lower down power. Do you think its worth going down one?
Yes it would, not only for Speedo accuracy but by default it increases the bikes true mileage reading also.
I have 520 conversion and -1/+2 gearing. Naturally the top speed will be lowered, but how many times per year (if ever) would you test your Fireblade's 180mph? The gearing is brilliant for trackdays, but equally enjoyable for the road. Just be careful on the 1-3 gears, if you whack the throttle to full open... you will certainly do a wheelie
