Settings I use on mine Wide mode I found I got more vibration when using medium, narrow field of view 1080p @ 60fps or 720p @ 120fps This thread may also be of some use to you http://1000rr.co.uk/general-1000rr-discussion/15182.htm
Going for a run up the west coast tomorrow, so should test it out a bit then. Likely Oban, Fort William way with perhaps a stop at the Green Welly.
Love it up that way mate enjoy. Can't wait till I move back down home again and get to tear up my favourite roads.
I am still slogging on with my trusted Go Pro 1. I have it changed and spare battery's and mounts for my cadwell long weekend next week. And with 2 days on track I have plenty of time I hope to get it mounted on various places again. Hoping to get some good footage out of it
When you say blurry do you mean the video skips or the quality is blurry? I normally leave it on 1040p 30ps in low light I.e last hour of day light its better to turn it to 720p with 48 or 60 fps more frames = more light but with the down side of more memory took up hence 720p. If you are trying to watch the video through the phone app or with the camera or card just plugged into the computer you sometimes get the video skipping. Basically the computer can't convert the information fast enough. Just copy the file/s directly to the computer they will play perfect. The other reason for skipping video is crap SD card that likewise can't keep up with the camera quality. Blur could be down to vibration on the bike I guess.
Ok very short video of my approach to Eilean Donan castle from yesterday. Still unsure on the settings and was taking it easy to get the approach views. As you can see, my faster riding mate was already there on his R1.
It looked to be set on 1080 super and 30FPS. Is there any good editing apps ? All a learning curve for me, so hints and tips all much appreciated. Changed setting to 1080 60fps and wide as Andy stated up top. Will try it again and see the difference.
Good camera - but somehow you have uploaded that clip at 240 pixels , rather than 1080 hence poor quality on that view I have my GoPro 3+ set to medium (I've loaned it out so cannot check 100%) - find on wide other bikes etc look really small if they are just a few meters away One mount option is to have a vertical mount centered just above the headlamps - rear mount sideways on very end of tail unit Any movement of the camera will be magnified hugely when you play footage back - so try and have it as solid as possible Loads of options now for mounts - chest harness, selfie sticks for your lad to hold (at low speeds) , helmet clips - options are vast - and that's before the home made specials like 360 pan head timers made from oven timers etc.
I think the upload thing issue there was that I was just testing and downloaded it from camera to iPad at low resolution due to available memory on iPad. However on playback it looked the same prior to downloading it. Will do some testing of it this week when I get a chance. Don't want camera mounted on helmet. Would much prefer it on side of bike. All points noted tho, thanks mate. By the way, watching the above video on a phone is pretty sharp. Lol.
Here is a little sample of 1080p 60fps from the suction cup mount it's boring footage but it will give you a idea of vibration, wind noise & video quality The video defaults to 360p so you will need to click on the cog and adjust it 1080p once you have pressed play on a PC or with a iPad / tablet it might limit it to 720p
