Sorry if this has been covered already, I did do a little search. Has anyone fitted a Gilles Shift Support on 04-07 blade? Just been looking at them on ebay and wondering what the benefits are or ideally first hand experience of having one fitted. Cheers!

I put one on my 09 and can't really say it did much.

Have one on my 07. Fitted it before I really rode it, but the main advantage is that is helps prevent wear and the associated slackness that comes with it.

I think ill probably get one. Like you say save on wear a bit. I plan on keeping this bike a long time so dont mind putting a bit money into it.

Personally I think it is one of those mods, or is that few mods, that are actually beneficial to the bike and not just bling.

For sure and i would buy it again anyway just because it adds a little support.

Can't speak for the 04-07 Stanley, but it made a noticeable difference to my 954, especially on the downshift. The bike has a notoriously long gear change shaft and is prone to flexxing and the Gilles support stiffened it up considerably. Pretty little bit of metal too. It's a shame it's all but invisible.

Just to heap more love on the Gilles Shift Support... fitted one to my RR7 after a spate of false neutrals... haven't had a false neutral since! Shift feels more positive and more robust.

I also put one on my 2006.. Its not obvious straight away what it does for you, but I would say that gear shifting does seem smoother.. had it on about a year now and has certainly taken the "notchyness (is that a word?)" out of the first couple of gears

OK I admit to being a mechanical dunce. Can it be fitted to a bike with aftermarket rearsets ?

Yep... it simply holds the shift shaft where it exits the engine case... so is not affected by aftermarket rearsets.

Long story Kev..not yet is the short answer as a pal of mine offered to buy the HPK calliper and R6 bracket off of me.. which means that the USA Ebay specials of Caliper plus bracket is what I'm waiting for.. slight twist in the tale but will come good yet!

I have one and think they are really good. Added support and helps reduce false gear shifts
