Anyone got any experience of modding one of these? Lead has POS and NEG connection for battery, but is then 4 pins to the mount itself. I want to modify it so that I can put in an inline plug/socket so that I can remove the mount and not have the power lead hanging around. This way I can then route the cable out of sight and just have a waterproof socket available for quick re-installation.

Yep modded mine and fitted a 12v din plug to it, it's just a positive and negative lead, not sure why they split it at the connector mount though

Cheers. Am looking into a din plug solution, just can't decide where I put the socket. At the moment I'm tempted to strap it to the side of the HESD.

I'm going to make a bracket and put it behind the top clamp bolts

Finally got it all fitted. Ignition switched power to a Hella/Din socket. Will be using velcro to secure the garmin cable to the ram mount to stop it flapping in the wind. I will also need to sort the traffic aerial cable, probably to the screen, but overall am happy with the result.
