K-tech DDS shock and 20mm ssk kit in the forks revalved and sprung. £1400 from Colin at 100% suspension. Used Gareth at reactive for any suspension work up until now but he was honest enough with me to say that buying products new he couldn't compete on price with most other places. Phoned around a lot, Maxton, FTR, K-Tech directly, but when I spoke to Colin at 100% I really liked his manner, wasn't in a hurry to get me off the phone, was happy to give me all the advise I needed to make my decision. Went with the fork revalve kit for now, the be honest I couldn't get my head around why the DDS cartidge kit is two grand, twice what the 25mm cartridge kit is. Colin had said he had done work for people before that had qualified for national superstock 1000 with just the 20mm ssk kit in the forks, I'm not at that level, so this set up is probably good enough for me.

Can't really comment on the shocks performance yet, but I expect it to be good. More new bits, the spare wheels I bought off eBay for £375 came without disks. They guys at Perth Honda parts department gave me a good price on Honda ones, almost as cheap as EBCs, so I went with genuine Honda ones. Stock pads as well to start with, on the GSX-R 600 and 1000 race bikes I used Genuine Suzuki pads as I found them to be as good if not better than anything else I tried (carbon Lorraine, bendix, DPRacing). Bought this little bracket for €155 shipped from Ten Kate to hold the calliper in place during rear wheel changes, expensive for what it is but there's nothing worse than flapping about in a stress not being able to get the rear wheel in when trying to get the wets on in a hurry.

The breather bottles are HRC, the bracket a HRC replica lazer cut alloy off eBay

Some crash protection, got some second hand GB racing casing covers too from eBay.

Well finally got the bike through to Dynotech Ecosse for Willie and Martin to set her up (seeing as my booked in for set up free from the engine builder resulted in more ignored phone calls). Got the quick shifter set up, PCV and secondary fuel module hooked up too. Engine guy had told me he could get an extra 1bhp with secondary fuel module and it fills in a dip in the power curve between 9-10500rpm, Dynotech guys said they had never found that much gain from them. Anyway I was probably a little disappointed, with the full Arrow, pipercross filter, carbon air tubes, PCV and a blueprinted motor I was hoping for 175bhp, and it ran 171.5bhp. Perhaps still a little tight from the rebuild?. I don't know, I've got a track day coming up on the 25th so get a run out on it then, and after 5500 road miles il mmaybe look into trying to change the tea bag filter in the fuel tank, then drop it back down for another power run. Although to be fair they did say that was pretty usual power for a blade, just thought with the blueprinted motor and the cams degreed etc it would have a couple more ponies. Left thinking it's not any better than what me and my mate could have built ourselves up in my garage, and that way I would have known all the valve clearances, which thickness head gasket etc was used.

I don't know, I never built the engine and if me and my friend had it would of just been stock. I think you really need to know what your doing before you start playing about with it.

171 / 172 is about right for your set up with a blue print mate IMO. Couple lads I race with (and are uber rapido) have that with very similar spec. Only a numbers game, that's very strong for a blade IMO and all about the delivery and torque so don't think you'll be left wanting too much ;)

My pal has just bought one with 180 on the dyno but it's had mega money thrown at it! Lad on here the other day (can't remember name sorry) says 190+ is acheivable which I'm sure it is but god knows what the build cost must be and how much you'd have to throw at it to stop it going kaboom!! Lol

Willie and Martin really know their stuff. Great guys and always helpful.
Not much they haven't came up against.

That power curve looks really good and I bet it would feel way quicker than you'd imagine.

On a serious note, what's yours on mate? And set up? If I could get the power up without crazy money I'd keep after next year, otherwise ill be looking to change to a zx10 tbh

And yours will get more than a season before refresh? Nice...
