Hi, Should have posted this few days back, I am about to buy the Leo Vince GP can for my 09 blade. My current Leo Vince sbk made 104db with the baffle in at brands. I was thinking maybe the exhaust had issues (as it came with the bike) I want to be doing track days next year and dB levels are important - 99db is good I think for most tracks. Been told the GP can measured @ 105db with the large baffle.. These guys sell a baffle that kills dB (eBay item 271457582260) I spoke to them they said they only guarantee this for there exhausts, how ever the baffle may fit and work well.. So, anyone here running a Leo Vince GP pro and managed to get the dB's down for track days? Need to make my decision and pay for it tomorrow - but don't want to end up getting stuck..
thanks rob, could that have been at a track day with no restriction on db, or i no some are 105db will give mhp exhausts a call.
I have a blueflame carbon oval fitted to my rr9 and that was 102 without the baffle in I seen the scorpion can blow 100 without the baffle too Change the exhaust or take a gamble with dB killer, I friend of mine has a yoshi can and he can't get under 105 with baffle in lol
spoke to Mark @ MHP Exhaust he said not sure, so have sent him the pictures and he will let me know soon if it can be done.. costs will be between £30 - £60 depending on how complicated it is..
just had a mail back..saying it wont be easy as there is no wadding in it..not sure what that means - but he will call me later. Guessing it wont be cheap either way..
I have only ever heard of people failing DB tests at track days with GP Pro's (with baffle in). In fact I was told specifically not to get a GP Pro earlier this year if I wanted to do track days - or keep the GP Pro for day to day but get another exhaust for track days.
I've had a few Leo Vince exhausts in the past but couldn't get them quiet enough even with different baffles, so I will never buy them again. The only exhaust apart from MHP that is, that I could get the noise down on was the Akrapovic, mine makes 102dB without baffles and 99dB with a baffle. Plus I've tried putting extra packing into an Akro but made no difference to sound level.
I am pretty much 100% sure that the Scorpion power cone with its DB killer in will pass track day noise tests... happy to be corrected on that but I am pretty sure. At least that's what I was told when I got mine!
Well just an update..I did speak to Mark @ MHP, he did reply to my emails...and sent a txt saying he would call to discuss...but never did..tried him once again, no answer and have given up..
