Hi all, thought I'd join your forum prior to getting a cbr1000. Names Colin (Guinnesshead to me mates cos I drink a tad to much Guinness) Anyway been riding 1997 cbr 900 for a couple of years & doing track days for a year on it. Now think it's time to move up to 1000. Probably won't get one till after Christmas but I am tempted by a 2006 model near me for sale. It has a Scorpion can & a PC 11. Owner says it smokes a bit & the mechanic in the garage told him this is not unusual & he has seen worse. Is he right or should I steer clear of the bike. Appreciate any input guys. Thanks Colin.
Hi and welcome to the forum form another who lives in Brizol (there's a couple of us). It just so happens that I have a 2004 CBR1000-RR for sale
Hello from another Bristolian (albeit now strictly ex-Bristolian as I live in Clevedon now) Never heard anyone say that it's common for an RR6 to smoke... sounds dodgy to me unless you're handy with the spanners.
Hi and welcome. I went to university in Bristol so spent 3 very chaotic years of my life there. I love the place. Smoking you say? Stay clear and get one that doesn't - not worth the risk unless you can do the work yourself.
Welcome fella, I would give that one a swerve if I was you. I've just sold my RR7 it never smoked or used a drop of oil and I try not to hang about.
Welcome from another local in Hanham What area of Bristol do you live? and yes you did Andy and my RR8 does not use oil either and it's not for sale
Thanks for all the welcoms guys. A well used forum this, not like some. Sorry mate, your rr4 is not for me. Struggling to sell my Suzuki GSX 1400 as it happens, over 300 views on Gumtree but no enquirys. Can't by a blade until it sells. Got an old 97 blade also but I don't think I can part with it. I live in Yate, Remal. Not to far from Hanham.
Welcome to the forum fella, mines an 06 with a scorpion can and I've never seen a wisp of smoke from it.
