hearing some horror story's about the 08 blade gearbox's when a QS is fitted? Just fitted one myself and was wondering what are the best settings for use and for good running of the gearbox?
Theyre made of cheese lol. Just replaced mine. Might not be a problem on a road bike but the dogs on mine were wrecked and gear coating was chipping
Not had one (gearbox with or without shifter) fail yet tbh, think I have serviced about a hundred+ blades (08+ etc) since 2008 model. Slow down a bit Souleh
Lovely fresher gearbox yum yum yum Ill get pics of the old one when I remember to pick it up Hadnt failed but was getting the odd false. Cant say its had an easy life at the same time
Sensitivity is individual for each rider and bike, it should be setup using the SHIFT icon on the LCD display, so once the lever is moved to the point it's about to shift, SHIFT should be shown as the lever clunks into gear, if you get false neutrals then back off the sens a little. NOTE it's important your boot does not foul the lever when riding along in a normal position, shifts should be made with a positive move. Kill times are where you want it to be slick, I.e 60ms will be good in the mid range, 50-55ms in the upper, again needs setting where you as a rider want to shift, if you have the SS then you can set a long kill time of say 60ms and HMSS will trim it back when needed to give a slick change in the upper even if the time is set to be slick in the mid range, NOTE it does NOT add time! Direction C or E is the direction the sensor moves to SHIFT UP a gear.
