. Or at least I always thought so until I saw this one* on ebay for £40.00 (less than a third of new price) and noticed that it has locations for a tank bag. Well I haven't treated the 'blade to a present since I put a new set of hoops on it last month so I bought it. It turned up 24hrs later and it's absolutely immaculate. Just need a good size tank-bag to go with it now. *
Don't mean this the way it might read but what is the point of these? Edit- better way to ask......what's the benifit of these?
cos of the plastic tank cover magnetic tank bags don't work and usually end up scratching the tank, these make it possible to use a tank bag usually a bag lux one though Love mine and is a great accessory for touring
Looks like a Bag-O-Wank that Nicko! There is no need for such shockingly designed shyte when Peeps like Givi make the Tank Lock system which quick locks and releases one of their Bags on and off ya Tank in 3 secs flat and doesn't toch any paintwork at all.
It makes your fuel feel all lovely, warm and cosy, happy fuel is fast fuel err.... no idea, but they look bad
The baglux newsign 11L bag for the baglux cover is a good size for sportsbikes, not too high, follows tank contour and can store quite a lot of stuff in it too for its size! I took it to Spain with earlier in the year n it stored everything I needed quick access too while over there, clothes other luggage went in the kriega bags. Oh an they only take few secs to unclip the four attachment clips an you can carry it away with the built in backpack straps.
Cheers SW. I always look forward to your helpful comments especially as they usually contain insights and phrases obviously gleaned from your other obsession/pass-time where 'Getting a Grip' of the subject 'in hand' must be soooo important.
Here you go nick better photo without me in the way, the bag also opens up taller if you get what I mean via a zip around it
The Givi bag in my Photo also has a zipped extender on it which raises the capacity should U need it.
Baglux produce quality stuff. The tank cover has a standard fit for their bags. I used the cover on my previous bike and my current one. The colors are not always a best match but I look at it as protecting the tank, providing a fixing for a clip on luggage and with the padded sides, a nice feel when you grip the tank with your knees So my friend it is a win win situation for you
True mate. Having noted the amount of 'Top Shelters' offered on ebay that, upon closer examination, seem to have suffered crash damage (mostly to the bit that sticks out at the top/front) I'm now viewing my new purchase as being at the very least the equivalent of a sort of 'Crash bung for Tanks'.
Baglux is good, like shineysideup (Craig) I use a small one when away, the Givilock is much newer and also looks to do much the same job, bar protecting the tank. My 2008 Pearl white cover is 100 mint as its been under a baglux cover - Here is Marco Simoncelli with a baglux cover on my bike and with luggage on it
