I know it's been done before, but just wanted to let anyone know that didn't that 2012 clocks fit directly on 08-11. Did mine last month, was completely ball ache free and pretty quick to fit. I got the bits from Yorkshire Gooner. Clocks + headlight loom, £410 delivered then sold my old ones for £150.

Here's a short video of them running on my 09.

Unfortunately not. It takes a lot of effort to do that in this mod. I'm not overly bothered about having a gear indicator as I've never had one before. It's just got an annoying dash flashing

That flashing may go out over time Jay, mine used to flash then decided to just stay in 6th.

I wonder if its possible for an electronics whizz to sort out gear indicator wiring ?? I know the newer gearboxes have a switch fitted within box.... but as the diagnostic plug powers a GI indicator could nt this wiring be adapted to power gear indicator on the 2012 clock ???? with appropriate resistors, and flux capacitors ??????

Cool mod - would like ot do it to mine at some point. I assume the ODO data (mileage) from your old clocks can't be transferred over?

A Cynic might suggest this is the other benefit of doing this mod, bit of 'Mileage Trimming' is a Brucie Bonus! ;)

yeah I was hoping it'd just choose a gear and stop blinking. I'm sure its possible, I've got the workshop manual from Honda and you can see where it goes. I sent the clocks in the post to AutoSphere UK based in southampton, and they modified my mileage to add what i already had on there, so my mileage is correct!

The thing with the 2012 clocks is they have a wire for each gear from the switch so doesn't rely on engine revs and clutch movements to estimate the gear your in. Very accurate system of course but completely diffrent to how aftermarket gear indicators work.. So imo very hard to get working. Anyway gear indicator is very hard to read as it so small so better to have separate one anyway.

It s a shame that it wasn't as easy as swapping the Neutral switch with the updated one for gear indication.
