There's a couple of people having problems getting their pictures up onto the forum and there's also some great tips on the best way to do it from Rob and some of the more experienced members.

For my sins, image editing is the cross I bear for the privilege of earning a crust and more often than not uploading woes are linked to incorrect image sizing. There are dozens of online services for image sizing but I honestly believe it's simpler for everyone to keep their images on their computers and just make web friendly copies with a couple of mouse clicks. After stripping away the techie over-complications, (don't want to risk another "nerd alert") I'd like to point you to this neat little download for Windows.

    Image Resizer for Windows

Once installed, it adds new command to your right click menu. Right click on your picture icon and you'll see "resize pictures". Click on it and selct a size (854 pixels x 480 pixels is fine for the albums here). It creates a new file with the same title as your original but suffixed with your chosen size (small/medium/large/mobile) as part of the filename so there's no danger of losing your original. It also creates the new file in the same folder as the original so they all stay together.

If you're an image editing novice it makes life a lot easier.

Once you've got your smaller image the forum's wizard for uploading them is pretty WYSIWYG and then you're just reliant on decent bandwidth from your service provider for upload time.

It is windows only but I'm sure iPhoto does something similar (Apple has added this advice to your account). So hopefully more of you can get your albums up and running.

    Cheers

    Ken

OK I'm a thicko. Still can't get pictures onto the forum.
As above, I've downloaded the resizer and resized the images on photobucket.
When I try to insert it asks for the URL.
When I right click on photobucket, there are four options, E mail & IM, Direct link, HTML code and IMG code, which one do I use ?
Also on here do I have to delete the http:// which appears in the image box before cutting and pasting the relevant 'code' in?
Please help, I think I'm making something simple very difficult :(

You need to set up the album in your profile and upload pics directly to here . You need to save them as a smaller size ( under 1mb i think )

Blade. If you're on windows try this

    Image Resizer for Windows

It'll make a copy of your images small enough to upload automatically. About 600 x 800 is all you need for forums.
