Hi guys after having had a main bearing shell spin we fitted new shell main bearings to our RR5, unfortunately the motor sounds like it has spun a shell again. I have another complete motor but the lower crankcase has been smashed on the alternator side so we need a lower crankcase for a RR5 to replace the broken one.
Thanks for the input Paul, we were going to remove the alternator section from the crankcase and use it on our damaged one, but we have fabricated a new alternator end today. We should finish the job tomorrow and post up some pictures.
i'm a bit confused as what your saying.are you saying you have made a new bit for a crankcase??? or are you talking about the crank case cover?
To clear any confusion you may have Scooby yes we have fabricated a new section of lower crankcase and welded it in place.
