Well that don't say much for the not inconsiderable number of forum members who, come the summer hols, load their 'blades up to the hilt and head for foreign shores does it Jimbo.

Is it just me thats lost or has nobody else got a clue what this threads about???

Started off larger new/modified tanks are expensive prob due to time spent welding them up n such.......to saying whether blades should be used for touring and about mass centralisation changes folks are make after strapping luggage onto their blades or any bike for that matter.

Tbh heres how it lays out to me - if you really want a 24ltr tank man up n drop the cash for it or just deal with the fact you need to spend an extra 3-5mins topping the tank off to reach your magical 400mile round trip figure or trade the blade in for a more economical/larger capacity machine!

Wow you really do have a capacity (no pun intended) to miss the point! I am one of those members mate, 5 years on the bounce 2.5/3k 7/8 day tours and throw in a couple of Scotland trips in that time, Fair chunk of it with forum members.... Usually do 350/450 miles a day, and I'd like to think at a fairly consistent pace ;) not once, ever, after riding my sportsbike, like a sportsbike, have I ever thought.... Hmmm maybe I could do with another 80 miles or whatever before I stop...

Then I don't use motorways if I can help it, and I see the roads and the riding as a challenge, not mile munching and I'm also their for FUN so it's also nice to stop and chat with the lads....

Back to my original point, which I thought I made clear a second time (obviously not) if your not a world level endurance racer and weight isn't an issue, you simply want more miles, put your money where your mouth is and have one modified.... Bit daft to spend extra money for a lightweight one when your adding weight to the bike anyway in fuel....

But then this is prob the fourth thread you've done on this topic and still not bought one so I won't hold my breath

Should speak to jase, he has one I'm sure he will do a fair deal on ;)

Heated grips are shite compared to heated inner gloves.

They have been fine for the last seven years... heated gloves is something else to tie you to the bike.
