I must hasten to add that it's not my diagram. I found it on the 'net a couple of years ago and kept it in my 'Fireblade' folder on my desktop. I can't remember who to credit it to.

:( A couple of points;the 'third eye' switch referred to in the dia. must be for pre- '08 'blades that have a running light between the h/lights and also, nowadays you can buy ballasts with what I think is called the 'ignighter' (that little box at the top and bottom of the diagram) 'built in' thus cutting down on the stuff you have to find a place to mount. I experimented a lot with building my own projection h'light system even going so far as buying a spare head-light unit and completely removing the reflectors in an effort to mount all the little boxes in the unit but on the bench it got too hot so in the end I gave up.

For a lot less aggravation I simply bought two HID bulbs (H7 and an H7R dip) and cable tied the ballasts to the inside fairing trim. I put a switch in the dip circuit so that during the day I just run with the two LEDs mounted in the mirrors of my '11 'blade switched on.

Once you've experienced riding after dark with HIDs you'll never want a bike without them. Even oncoming cars with 'ordinary lighting' look like their bulbs are yellow and you rarely get bullied by drivers being slow to dip as you approach each other on those twisty 'B' roads since they're made aware and can see you coming miles off. Which is nice.;)

I've posted this poor quality pic' on the forum before so I apologize for repeating myself but you can get the idea.

Thanks for the tips Nicko, so for day running you have the halo's on and the led's in the mirrors only?

Sorry mate. I should have made it clear. Like I said, in the end I gave up on fitting projectors/halo's and just basically re-placed the standard bulbs with HIDs. I just run with the mirror lights during daylight 'cos I'm aware that the bike, in my opinion, looks a bit silly with just one dip beam on. Some may be critical about running with just the 'position' lights on but it seems to me that the same amount of people pull out on me whether I'm lit-up or not. :D

Keep us up to date with pic's when you fit yours mate.

    Nick.

TBH I don't know. It's the 'self-canceling' bit that I need. I'm afraid I'm one of those riders who, when the work-load is high, occasionally forgets to 'cancel' after completing the manoeuver. Better safe than sorry. ;)
Anyway it may never now get fitted since I'm thinking of trading in against a new VFR 1200 F-D:eek:

Nikco still looking at the HID install, do the hid kits do any high low beam or are they just on or off? Ideally I'm after having a switch so only the halos are on with the ignition and then both lights on with the low beam but how does the high beam work? The diagram you posted hints that both lights are on and then has high beam also so dual bulbs in the projectors?

I bought a h4 hid kit and h4 normally has dual filaments for high / low.. Do you know if this is the case for HIDs?
