Just purchased an arai rx7 from sportsbike shop, you get a 10% from them as they in the traders section, worth giving them a shout once you've decided what lid you want

    Go old school bell m5x

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418585287.963322.jpg

    Ticks all boxes
    Comfortable even with glasses
    Stable and quiet at speed
    Solid and multi adjustable visor
    Decent helmet bag
    5 year warranty
Had one over two years and chin strap was showing some wear. Met main distributor at demon Tweeks open day and he changed it for a new one free of charge.
    ***** sharp test
Had a spill and head butted a telegraph pole with a m5x walked away, no head injuries but two bust fingers.
Question how many Arai helmets get *****
Clue the same atomic number of hydrogen

Just got myself one of these.
    Its the RX7 RR Haslam.
Red one one side, blue on the other.
Goes well with a tri colour or a HRC Blade.
Got a friend visiting Japan this week, so he will bring it back to Bangkok for me.
Came in at about 365 GB pounds :)

Ive always ridden with Arai. But my new ChaserV feels very heavy compared to my old Corsair, (and I cant set the sticker to lie flat across the brow- arse!). Went mid-market AGV for a while but you have to go right to the top to feel the quality with them imho.
If money was nt an issue, (partly due to buying carbon bits off Daz to repair my cyclist-actioned spill), I'd get the Arai GP. I like the Shoei MM93 lid but Id feel a bit self conscious wearing it, its odd because if you wear a Barca Footie shirt with a number 10 people don't say -that guy thinks he's Messi.
    Is this just my hang-up?

Try an X Spirit 2 they are good but you'd be nuts to go the extra for one over the NXR (if the fits good for you). The NXR seems a step forward not sure what Shoei were thinking, if you want a X Spirit 2 your not exactly spoilt for choice with designs even for next year it would seem.

The only thing I haven't been able to compare is if the X Spirit 2 is any better at higher speeds, perhaps that's the difference otherwise it offers no other advantages and certainly not for the additional cost.

Don't get me wrong I like my X Spirit 2 and if you like top of the tree then why not, that's why I'll be keeping mine.

When you make your mind up give me a shout.

Just my view of course as helmets are a very personal matter, here is my history and experiences:-
    - Arai - had a few, love them, great fit and light yet noisy if you don't wear ear plugs
    - Shuberth - quiet as heck, conformable, wide visor view yet big shell size
    - Shark - great fit, amazing visor demister applied at factory and works, quiet yet has ratchet type clasp which i don't like
    - AGV - sleek, good fit, stylish yet modelled for a naked so visor height was comprised for me anyhow on that model
    - Shoei - doesn't suit my head shape, sorry
    - HJC - light, stylish, brilliant fit, small shell ok not the quintet lid yet i like them so much i bought two

Wish you luck in your search buddy
