Don't worry it's not the normal question. I am switching from semi to full synth and was wondering if I am best to change the filter? Only swapped it about 500 miles ago so wouldn't normally bother but wondered if best to do so with the change of oil type?

Change the filter, the cost is tiny!

deffo, the filter itself will hold quite a bit of old oil.

Why change either now if the oil and filter is only 500 miles old, just do them at the next scheduled change?

Am due a 16k service soon, and also wanted to change the oil after the winter as the bike is in a unheated garage all winter.
