    Hi all,
Does anyone had/has any thoughts about this helmet? I am looking for a new one at the moment so any comments or suggestions for AGV would be helpful

    Thank you

Love the look of a load of AGV lids, but can't stand having them on my head. Soon as I have one on I have to remove it :(

Fantastic looking lid but definitely one designed with track use in mind, IMO.

As far as I know, you operate the vents by removing or replacing the rubber bungs that stop up the holes

If you're buying the lid for road use I can think of loads of others that would be on my shopping list before the Pista.

About the only thing that it'd excel at would be bragging rights.

If that appeals to you then.............

I had an agv for my first lid. Cant remember what it was but at the time it was their top of the range one. Its the only helmet ive ever owned that leaked water past the visor. Then after sending it back to them 3 times they came to the conclusion it was the visors fault which happened to be an official agv iridium one. Even tho it leaked with both the clear and iridium one they still put it down to the visor.

So long story short hein gerik refunded me my money and I bought an Arai. But now I ride with an X lite 802 r carbon, its my second one after the first saved my ass from any serious injury after my high side on track I decided to get another.

I've had over ten AGV lids over the years and had nothing else for the past 15, including Joker, XR2, Ti-Tech's, GP Tech and Pista GP Project 46 Carbon.

I feel that I can speak with confidence about their products through experience and having owned my Pista Carbon for over twelve months and approx. 10,000 miles again have reasonable knowledge about this particular lid.

It is certainly a more track/sports focused lid but the benefits are that it is extremely light, has the best visibility and the aerodynamics mean that you experience no wind buffeting whatsoever at any speed. In addition I did take a considered look at what was available and after seeing how much development went into the design and manufacturer decided that this lid was the best for me. I pay my money make my choice and wanted the best I could get for my cash to protect my bonce, not about bragging rights at all.

I have worn it in all conditions including a 1350 mile/two day trip into Europe, TT week at the IOM, charity rides etc and found it the most comfortable lid I have ever worn (the Ti-Tech does come close)

During a very wet (hailstones) day at Ron Haslam Race School it did mist up but there again, most lids would have done the same. I'm sure a pinlock would cure this.

When Daniese took over AGV a number of years ago there has been marked increase in the quality of all their products.

Everyone is allowed to make their own choice and with us all having different shaped heads some lids and even models from the same manufacturers may fit differently.

I would recommend that you go and try one on, then make your own opinion buddy.

I also love this lid, was looking at them last night as need a new one really.. Also quite liking the new Carbon Shark helmets bit more reasonably priced.

Did try the Pista on but preferred the feel on the Shoei X-sprit 2 for my bonce but they dont do any decent colour schemes unless you want to look like Marquez! Just the plain black carbon Pista would be my first choice, seen them for around £630 online last night...

AGV are bringing out a K5. Looks similar, without the cost.

I have the Rossi Soleluna edition and wore it all year round on track & road, Beckers' review is spot on.

Absolutely superb helmet and would definitely go for another one of these if I was looking to change helmet anytime soon.

Dainese store in Manchester have a big sale on too, Probably land yourself a good deal there.

Got a GP Pista Elements and done 5,000mls with it, great helmet, great vision, but great a lot of wind noise with it, always have to wear ear plugs and sometimes tuck up a neck scaff to cut it down, but love it to bits.

Visor change is so easy as well.

Told to get one fitting tightly as once worn it will loosen up and it has.

Even have it as a Screen saver on my laptop, sad I know.

I agree with this I own one and I'm more than happy with it the big thing I noticed was the increased visibility from my last agv it's very light and there's plenty padding to change out to suit your head
But everyone is different but I really like the pista

Does that clip at the bottom of the visor not get in the way at all, vision wise when open?

Does it come with Pinlock fittings?

The Pista i found was in Rossi's colours...fantastic looking piece but my other option would be an Arai RX7-GP. It is a dilemma but i'll wait for the london show to see what are the bargains there. Cheers to all

The only down side I can think of with the helmet is its ether fully open or fully closed it may sit halfway but there's not the nobbles or resistance to have it say open a little, in the rain the shape of the helmet seems to blow the rain off the visor well even drizzly rain
