Is it not a similar story with pretty much any stocker though?...apart from maybe Aprilia, if there are any :)

I'm sure we both no they have a big budget. Perfectly balanced Pistons and rods might be a start for them.
I'm may be talkin bollocks but really is a blade goin to keep up with a zx10. Me and my mate was watching on tele and both said. No way they didn't out drag him what must they be feeding that blade

your'e not allowed to open the engine in SS,except a thinner head gasket, the sp has matched rods, but even at factory doubt they will be spot on.it was a bit of a shock when you see o'hallorans blade keeping up with danny's zx10.problem is,SS isn't really SS anymore, theres so much stuff goes on and gets past scrut's etc.

From what I was told Danny B bike wasn't mad horsepower cause everyone kept accusing them of cheating. Something like mid 180s on the dyno. I've heard there's cheating in the series but what can they add except funky electrics?

As you said, the SP is already blue printed from the factory. Apparently they make about 176hp out the box according to my engine builder and still the same if not more torque than the bmw/kwak. People really underestimate that torque does win races. You could see it clear as day at thruxton that the blade lacked hp and that's only where it really matters at the top end of a fast circuit.

i thought thruxton was the biggest example that there was "something" going on with the SP,such a fast track where power is king, but the blade just stayed with the kwak.still,he rode it bloody well,i dont want to take anything anyway from that.

Danny Buchans bike got stripped at one round because Trick moto accused him of cheating and nothing wrong was found. Then at the next race Hudson Kennaugh (trick moto SS rider) was told to hand his BMW ECU over for checking and refused on the grounds that 'he needed his bike for the Hottrax endurance the following weekend'.

He got some stick in the hotraxx paddock that round, lol.

We could argue whether they are cheating or not all night. We sort of no things are a bit cheeky there but we won't ever really no unless u no someone there in it. And then u won't say anyway ;)

to be fair,it was Mark Clarks*owns (linxcel) decsion not hudson's (his endurance partner, and hudsons main funder for the BSB STK,and mark pays for him to be his teammate in the endurance).

In the late eighties my engine builder told me " horsepower sells engines, torque wins races". His engines won an awfull lot of races up to European level.
The difference is the riders. If it was the bike why are so many kwaks and bmw's at the back of the grid?
